Jeffers studio Art: About Me
I didn't start out to become an artist. My first degree was in Engineering. Now, Electrical Engineering may seem an unlikely field for an artist to chose, but I majored in that first partially because I was always good at math and computers.  The other reason is that Dad and Mom always insisted you need something to fall back on; a way to get a "real" job.   Out of a desire to learn to create, I ventured out on my own to take night school classes in art at the local community college.  I was fortunate to find some exceptionally talented instructors who nutured me.  The desire to learn about art grew until I made the bold return to school to pursue a BFA.  This resulted in my receiving my second degree, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.

Today, I pay the mortgage by working as a software engineer.    Also, I have a part-time job in the Air National Guard.  The Air National Guard has sent me all over the world and expanded my life experience.  In between my two jobs - one in corporate America, the other for the US military, I make time to paint.  I believe that it is possible to pursue more than one career at once, it just happens at a slower pace.
