Entry for November 8, 2006...we are family
photo

Hi everyone,

This photo was taken at the end of the dance at our community weekend last Friday.  It started out as a couple of people dancing, then one joining in and before we knew it, a congo line had formed and many people had joined up.

Daybreak is a congo line.  What you might ask?  A never ending party?  Well no. What can start out as a solitary journey is interrupted as another one joins in and then another and before long, a congo line of friendship is formed.

Daybreak is about relationships forged at the heart.  Bit by bit as we getto know one another and each other's stories, we join up and become stronger and our demeanor changes, we begin to laugh and relax and open up to one another.  I think we need more congo lines in church....it would break down the barriers and open us up to one another and the stories we carry.  it would move us out of our safe space into the dangerous space of relationships.

My life has ben a ongo line of joining and being joined in friendship.  I have become stronger for it and am better because of it.  Are you part of a congo line?

Until next time.

Jeff
