Entry for November 5, 2006....my life together part #3
photo

Hi Everyone,

As I continue to reflect on this great community weekend we lived, I look at one of the pictures above of Tom Krysiak and I in the corn fields from Saturday.

I was so taken by the corn fields and the endless rows, the beautiful color of the dead stalks.  I was trying to convince a bunch playfully to enter and play hide and seek.  I also thought wouldn't it be fun to just run through the fields and get lost in the midst? Tom and I journeyed in a little way and had our picture taken together.  As I look at it, I thought of many things.

Tom and I's lives have been woven together during this year.  I remember when being asked which house I would like to be in and I responded "Wherever, that is part of me being open to where God wants me to be".  I am grateful for this house, this community.  This year is about giving and receiving of one another's story.  It is about me allowing the core members to help me open up my story, my heart and to embrace it. It is about loving and being loved, it is about learning and being taught.

This community has helped me see into myself, the love that is there, the dreams and desires and hopes.  It is about walking with wisdom, when wisdom comes gift wrapped in a special way.  Tom, Mary Anne, Kara, Mike and John are walking wisdom.  Their stories, and hopes and dreams and desires teach me and shape me.

It has been a mutual walk in the corn field, to face the dying and the rising in our lives and to embrace and celebrate, to shed tears as Jesus did at the tomb of Lazarus and to laugh from the heart as Sara did in hearing she would become pregnant in the Old Testament.

My life this year is a walk in the corn field, but not alone...it is my life together with the comunity here.  Until next time.

Jeff
