Hey everyone,
Can you see the smile? That was the excitement as I prepared to leave the house for the concert I have been waiting 15 years to see. My favorite group "The Indigo Girls" played at Massey Hall theatre last night. I discovered this band by chance as I ordered an extra cd to complete my enrollment package with Columbia House. I had never heard of the group but would take a chance once in a while to listen to some new music.
Well upon hearing their debut album "Strange Fire", I was hooked with the amazing vocals, harmonies and acoustic guitar blends. I have all of their cds now including their latest release.
Well you know me and my luck for interesting occurences. Well the opening group last night was "Three Five Human" which was a really charged up energized band. As they finished off their set, they were on fire with their music....literally...a fire broke out as the speaker that is pointed towards themselves so that they can hear, caught fire. We sat there stunned as the guy working the mixer board ran for a fire exstinguisher and put out the fire. The band just shrugged their shoulders and stopped playing. The crowd went wild in applause...won't they have stories to tell.
Well afterwards the Indigo girls took the stage and boy they were better than I could have dreamed. Some bands suck live...these girls gave a concert that out matched the Rolling Stones in my books. This was by far my favorite concert and I have seen a few.
So for the next few days I will be singing and playing their music. I wish I had bought all their earlier cd's, but do have three of their albums with me. So I will enjoy them immensely.
So what a great day off and today I enjoy the day away also. Until next time....
Jeff
