Hi everyone,

Today is Thanksgiving Monday and we have finished our turkey dinners (we had pizza tonight actually after all the turkey).  During this time of being thankful, I look at the many reasons at L'Arche for being thankful.  One of these reasons is Tom Krysiak. This is him in the picture above, no, it is not his motorbike).

Tom, is one of our core members and lives here at Centre Street and is 46 but looks in his early 20's.  Tom is of Polish heritage and proud of it. He was born on September 12,1960 and has been here at L'Arche Daybreak for 11 years. He has always been here at Centre Street and everyone just loves him....

Tom works at the craft studio and is an artist, does candles, draws and does pottery and mosaics.  His wonderful imagination and deep prayer comes out in his creative work.  I recently bought his latest mosaic work and it is stunning!!!!!!! Tom just told me to write this down...."On November 11th, it is Remembrance day and we wear poppies"...and now back to my story! He is leaning over my shoulder telling me what to write.

Tom is also a deep spiritual man and loves to pray and often I take him to church and dayspring.  He loves to look at the statues, praying, looking at the stain glass. He often goes off into his own world in prayer with his hands folded and eyes closed.

Tom is getting ready for Halloween and Jack-O-Lanterns.  He says for Halloween "I want to be superman uniform, red cape, black hairpiece. Halloween preparations have been going on since early September (before the 11th).

Tom also works at the woodery, but does not like to sweep the floors.  He thinks Joe Childs should be fired for makig him sweep and that he should take over as boss for Joe, and Carman who is our house leader should be boss also at the woodery. When asked who would be boss at the house here, Tom said he could do that here.  Tom just changed his mind and now wants to volunteer at Daybreak.

To relax, Tom likes to sleep, to dream and he does paperwork.  This means he lies on the bed, and copies things from newspapers, calendars and practices his writing.  He is great at the days of the week. Tom wants everyone (honestly) to remember Jeff's birthday is November 26th. He likes to listen to the radio and CHUM FM.

To finish off, this is Tom's message for you all: "I love everybody and I am a superstar!!!!!"
