Entry for October 6, 2006....colors and sights
photo

Hi everyone,

Today I am into my weekend away for October.  Camilla (other house assistant with me) and I decided to take off and explore Niagara-on-the-Lake.  What a neat little town with great shops, wonderful fall colors and lots of people taking advantage of the crystal clear blue skies. We had lunch where I feasted on mussles (PEI) linguini.  It was tasty and made me feel a little closer to home.  On the way back we drove the Niagara Parkway which ran along the river.  Here we passed beautiful estate homes and wineries.  We stopped every so often to take pictures.  The day was perfect for it.  We also found an attraction called the Arial whirlpool.  It was a cable car that travels from one side to the other of a huge rock cliff over the swirling Niagara river and looking into class 6 rapids.  Again the weather was clear and this was a neat excursion to take.

We also went to Niagara Falls (my 2nd time since here).  I can't get sick of this place.  The sound of the forceful water, the clear day and the spectacular rainbows from the sun and the mist off the falls was incredible as you will see in the photo above.  Camilla and I took our time and enjoyed the day away from all responsibilities. Walking along the falls, there is always something different to see and with it was the first time I went when the weather was clear.  It gives a different perspective. I hear that around Christmas, it is spectacular because they have thousands of lights around the trees which give it a spectacular feast for the eyes.  We will go then to visit.

Tomorrow I am off to friends for Thankgiving overnight and church with them.  I am sure I will have all kinds of stories to share about that.  Until then...start cooking your turkey!

Jeff
