This dance has been called the sappiest dance ever written. It's a flirting dance (they all are, but this one is particularly suited for it). It's for three couples (hence One, Two, Three in the song). The music is slower than most people think, hence the admonition to take things slowly in some of the stanzas.

Take hands all, double around the set
Another double the same as that
Single left and single right
And turn around in place.

Hands again, go the other way
Another double the same as that
Single right and single left
And turn around in place.

Chorus
One into the center
Two into the center
Three into the center
Then bows all around
Take a double around the set
Flirting with those inside the set
Keep on going for a while
Until the music changes
Next time go round the other way
Flirting with those inside the set
Keep on going for a while
Until the music changes
One comes out from center
Two comes out from center
Three comes out from center
Then bows, all around.

Siding next on your partner's right
Three slow steps to return to place
Single left and single right
And turn around in place.

Siding next on your partner's left
Three slow steps to return to place
Single right and single left
And turn around in place.

Chorus

Arming next on your partner's right
No need to rush you've got all night
Single left and single right
And turn around in place.

Arming next on your partner's left
No need to rush you've got all night
Single right and single left
And turn around in place.

Chorus
