How We Fight: A Perspective on the Just War Tradition
This page will be the online home of my Honors Thesis. Here I will post up dates of the rough draft as I write it! Also, I will post links to all of the web resources I will be using. In addition, I will also put up a bibliography of the books I will be using. That way, if you are really interested, you can buy your own copies and follow along! Not that I expect any of you to do that, but one can always hope!

This paper will be absolutly huge in its size. I am estimating somewhere in the 60 to 80 page range when it is all said and done. So, the question I am sure you are asking is "What is Jeff going to write about for 70 pages???" Well, even if you wern't asking that question, I'm gonna tell you!!! There will be a couple of main issues I will be focusing on. The first is the treatment of enemy prisoners of war and enemy detaines. There are established rules outlined in the Geneva Convention (to which we are bound) for the treatment of POW's. I will look at these rules and outline how and why they are broken. As an example, I will focus on the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandel. The second issue I will be looking at is the treatment of civillians in war. Once again, there are established rules outlined in the Geneva Convention for the treatment of civillians. Once again, I will look at how and why they are broken; however, this time I will use the My Lai massacre during Vietnam as an example.
Paper is finished!!!
Well, the paper is complete. It is also very long. The text itself only goes for about 62 pages; however, when you include the appendicies it jumps to 115!!! As of the moment, I am having trouble getting the paper on to my website. Right now, I have it available in .pdf format, which you can download at the link below. Unfortunatly, if you don't have Adobe Acrobat, you can't view it. I am working on getting a word version up as well. In the meantime, if you would like a hardcopy, just e-mail me and we will work it out.
