Dancer, Actor, Singer and now Director and Choreographer. A huge talent, and a good friend. - Joan Mathers (Producer of Jacques Brel...)

Ironically, when he came in to audition he went for the secondary role of Raoul. But when I saw and heard him, I said: No, this is our Phantom! And hes spectacular. - Hal Prince (Director of The Phantom of the Opera)

A real professional... and a really terrific guy to work with. Positive, supportive and a talent that truly draws the best from those of us who've had the pleasure to share either stage or studio with him. One of the best!! - Bob Dermer (Sam from Today's Special)

We looked at about 3,000 actors and performers in this country, and over that period of time, the only Canadian performer who got Hal Prince to leap out of the audience and on to the stage was Jeff Hyslop. - Garth Drabinsky (Producer of The Phantom of the Opera)

Jeff Hyslop is a 'triple threat performer' of genuine talent. It was an honor to share a stage with him. - Anthony Crivello (Original Valentin from Kiss of the Spider Woman)

Jeff was a joy to work with and is a dear friend today. He sang at our wedding in October '99. He's incredibly self-disciplined and seems to be singing and dancing better than ever. - Nina Keogh (Muffy Mouse from Today's Special)

As for working with him, I had a wonderful time. I had heard a lot about his interpretation of the Phantom before we actually worked together - because he is a dancer and I had been one as well - so I was very interested to see what he did. I thought he was great. Very committed and very nice to work with. - Laird Mackintosh (Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera)

It was great working with Jeff Hyslop and I hope to do it again soon! He is an elegant Phantom and what energy! I have seen footage of his dancing too, and was really impressed. He is a true "triple threat". - Kimilee Bryant (Christine in The Phantom of the Opera)

One of the last true song and dance men. - Louise Pitre (Jacques Brel...)

Jeff was the dancer we all aspired to be. His incredible extension, perfect line, and fan kicks, my God could he do fan kicks. Rumor had it that he broke his own nose doing one. A true musical theatre talent.  - Lance Aston (Don in A Chorus Line)

I performed the piece [Phantom of the Opera] for approximately a year and a half, and then had the wonderful opportunity to play it again opposite Jeff Hyslop who is a tremendous talent. I adore him, and I was honored to work with him. His dedication, grace, and depth as the Phantom made the experience with the Canadian National Company a very special one indeed. - Patti Cohenour (Christine in The Phantom of the Opera)

Jeff was one of the first Mike's in A Chorus Line to perform acrobatics. Before that it had been a song and dance kind of a number. Michael Bennett loved Jeff's incredible dance technique -- but also to have him end the number with spectacular round offs and flips took the number to new heights. Jeff was the first to perform his monologue and dance, so he propelled the show into a higher gear.  Those who came after him had to live up to that every night. The International company was collectively one of the most talented companies. It has made me happy to have known Jeff in the deserts of Israel, performing in ACL and to see what a wonderful successful career he is having.
- Baayork Lee (Original Connie in A Chorus Line)
