; A multi-instrumentalist composer, who has been playing all styles of music varying from baroque flute to jazz sax for 35 years. Mozzie has extensive knowledge of most aspects of performance in jazz swing latin and blues. Throw into that mix classical and now becoming more computer orientated is making his own cds. This has culminated in a vast variety of musical styles. In these albums Mozzie has crossed the boundaries of baroque to latin salsa from reggae to indian from japanese Koto to classical strings. Modern technology has afforded Mozzie the oppurtunity to display his compositional and performance skills

My First Cd The Contemplation

Originally starting out as an idea for a meditation Cd ( I missed because I got too busy, musically that is ). Many days and nights have been spent exploring my inner self , To draw forth music and ideas in a meditative mood yet not flow into spiritulism I found was indeed a formiddle challenge. In the endeavor for the music to have a calming and relaxing influence many lessons were learnt (and are still being learned ). In an attempt to keep the more soulful and calming side of my musical expression.

A Brief description of the tracks goes:

At the Beach A gentle tune using Flute in a 9/8 rythme to suggest the rolling of the waves added&nbsp; the calm serenity of a joyful clarinet melody exploring the mood of a day lazing at the Beach (ducking sea gulls)

Baroque Flute Here I have tried to recreate the atmosphere of Fredericks the Great's Court, with Quantz on  Flute I try to create the mood of the 17th century flute pieces.

A Bush Jam                               Jamming with birds in the Aussie Bush. Have actually had the pleasure to do this in real life. Creates a&nbsp; with a sense of oneness with nature
Indian Nights                             Entrance yourself with this snake charmer. On clarinet i try to do homage to the Indian culture
Ode to a Geisha                        A solemn mood using Flute to give respect for the geisha of Japan. Using Koto as a backing I feel I have caught the Japanese flavour I was looking for.
Reverie                                       I have tried to capture the sense of space. Whenever i hear this I imagine Myself outside the spacship space walking. I have used a haunting Flute melody over synth sounds
Romance for Flute n Strings    Here I have tried to capture the more Romantic sounds of the 19th Century Flute and chamber strings
Strings for a day4                      Composition to give tribute to the sounds of Orchrestal Strings
The lonely Samurai                   Another Japenese style tune using flute and koto
The Shiek returns                      Journey across the sands to the tents of the caravans

Cd no 2

Journey in time and place

Continuing the Journey and reflecting on some earlier ideas I explore my compositional skills further.
The Flute pays a prime importance on this Cd; I move further and deeper into the depths of my past. I find a gaining of further respect to the Masters and yet a need to feel to make it fun. For this I find a desire and increasing enjoyment in exploration of Latin American music.

A Brief Description of the Tracks on the 2nd Cd goes like this:

A bush jam A lilting melody set to Australian bird calls and crickets setting the mood of dawn in the Australian bush.
A wee bit of Reggae This is a tribute to Bob Marley. a happy flute melody using a roots reggae backing.
Cha cha cha A lively modern cha cha allowing Mozzie the oppurtunity to display his technique over a lively latin feel.

Dancing with flute                   A latin rythme with a lilting melody to start and a improvisation ensues.

Havana for a day                    Set to a latin salsa 3-2 clava pays homage to the fabulous music of cuba.

In a baroque mood                  A tribute to the great J S Bach this flute solo is set to orchrestral strings.

Journey to japan                     Reminiscient of traditional Japanese shakuhachi and koto is perfect meditative mood.

Mystic time                               Uses the synthesier backing with a plaintive flute melody over the top, sounds are very modern.

Oriental garden                       Has been likened to a traditional Nth Chinese song again usingflute over koto to enhance the asiatic feel.

Riverside                                 Let your imagination be taken to the forest with a river gently running puck plays his luring melody to the delight of the Nymphs.

Romance for flute and strings Ver 2 A classical composition in the style of the romantic period using orchestral strings

Tabla dance                            Conjour up the snake. Tablas and Tambura backing capture the charm of the piper.This tune has been likened to a tune from Hindustan.

This is a jazz cd using Jamey Aebersold Backings Tracks

On this Cd I try to explore the time and styles of music even deeper than I thought I could venture.
On some tracks i have written for 11 piece band.On others a small orchrestra
