Useful Websites
....and "useful" is the key word here.  With a huge number of wildlife-related websites on the internet, sometimes it's hard to find ones that have complete or accurate information. I am living proof that any Joe Amature-Biologist can put anything he wants on a webpage.  We're all human, and we all make mistakes, but these are some of the most useful and accurate webpages I've come across. Also, under "Interesting websites," are a few that I think are, well, interesting.... they may not be the most educational, but they are still worth knowing about (i.e. Message Boards, etc.)
Useful Websites
    - Enature - This website has a TON of information on it. Some of its most useful features are the ability to search for animals by zip code, an "ask the expert" section, and the option to create your own logbook of animals that you've seen.

- Beartracker's Animal Den - This website has information for the novice and advanced tracker alike. It tells how to find, identify, and cast tracks as well as a section on identifying animal scat. The webmaster is also very accessible and she has helped me out a couple of times with my casting technique.

- Mammal Skulls Index - This site is a database on identifying animal skulls. There is more specific information here than you could ever need to identify a skull and I've used this quite a few times.

- PA Range Maps - This site contains a little information on Pennsylvania mammal species, but its most useful feature is the database of range maps for each species.

- Animal Tracks - There is a lot of very detailed information on tracking here.

- Owling.com - This website is a very good source of information on owls of North America and Mexico. Some of its better features include many pictures, range maps, and sound files.

Interesting websites

- Nighttime camera pictures - A collection of motion-sensetive camera pictures of some rare wildlife.

- Living Primitive - This is an article from a magazine about a man who (at the time the article was written) had been living in the wild for two years. I found it very interesting and I wish I could find a follow-up article on it.

- Survival Top Sites - If you're into primitive camping, this site is for you.

- Sound Sculptures - The sound files on this site are the perfect cure for cabin fever...seriously.

- Eastern Cougar Discussion Board - This message board is focused on the possibility of cougars surviving in the Northeast US....it gives you something to think about anyway...

There's nothing that bothers me more than to find the perfect link on a webpage and then not have it work...so let me know if any of these links are dead and I'll take them off of here!
