Plateosaurus, The best known of the prosaurapods, the first of the giant dinosaur herbivores. Probably lived in herds and its size gave it a larger range of plants on which to feed. Also had strong clawed hands and a powerful beak.
Evidence, Several species have been identified from more than 100 fragmentary and complete skeletons found in Germany and France.
Size, Perhaps grew as long as 30 feet (9 meters), making it able to graze at a height of 10-13 feet (3-4 meters). Weighed about 4 tons.
Diet, A complete range of plants from trees to ferns.
