Brachiosaurus
Brachiosaurus,
The real giant among saurapods,
not because of its length or even its
height, which was considerable, but
because of its sheer bulk. Like a giraffe
it was adapted to feed on high plant
material and had close-cropping teeth
for nipping food.

Evidence,
Although two partial skeletons come
from the Morrison in Utah and Colorado,
the best known species was identified
from finds in the Tendaguru Beds in
Tanzania.

Size,
About 75 feet  (23 meters) long, but weighed
up to 70 tons and could graze at a height of
about 43 feet (13 meters). Its height at the
shoulder was about 20 feet (6 meters).

Diet,
Herbivore, probably not choosy, its diet
would have been biased toward conifer leaves
and fruit.

Time,
160-150 million years ago,
late Jurassic-early Cretaceous
