First of its kind in Malaysia and South-east-asia. The bridge was designed by a group of Malaysian engineers and the model was built according to the architectural layout plan and its specification.
The bridge was built right on top horizontal to the existing overhead bridge and is supported by huge reinforced steel bars streching from one end to the other. It has the capablity to withstand loaded weight of up to 10,000 tonnes.
The bridge was completed and fully operational in year 1999.

This project has achieved the international awards as the most innovative design in that year by the Malaysian government.
