Vacation is over. Let's see, what exciting new things did Jeff do? Well, first I slept in while chris went debating at harvard. And I worked on my Eagle Project. I'm trying to mooch Bill Gates' big white pasty bank account, getting some copies of Windows 98 to install on these ancient computers. But why do you care? Then I saw X2 at Wendell's for the umpteenth time.

But the really fun part was when we drove up to Maine, New Hampshire, and Veeeeermont to look at colleges. The idea was to ski at the same time, which didn't happen for a number of reasons. Well, actually, Chris got a fish-hook of a splinter and had to go to the frickin hospital when we were supposed to be skiing. gaaaah! We looked at Bates, Colby, Bowdoin, Dartmouth, Middlebury, and Amherst. Let's see. Bates was empty because it was winter break for some reason. Combined with a weird tour guide, I didn't really like it. It's located in sketchville, maine, aka Lewiston. Colby was wicked cool. At least, chris and I stayed with a friend of melissa's. She had a senior apartment, nice, and although it's isolated, I really liked the buildings and all the stuff they do there. Despite the White Mules, their mascot.

Bowdoin was cool too. It's in Brunswick, on the water(ish). The town is small but at least it's a town. The college is sort of old, but has the best food of any college according to a survey, and I agree. Dartmouth. I don't really want to go to an Ivy League. There aren't many graduate students here, but it's bigger than the other ones I looked at, and I don't think I like that it has frats and sors. (Sorors?). Middlebury was probably my favorite. Yes, it's the coldest, but it has its own ski mountain, it's in a town even though it's far from everything, and the college is beautiful on a ridge. Suwheeeet. While we were staying there, the car battery died, Chris got that nasty splinter, and I scraped the (parents') car on the side of a parked one. This did not make pleasant noises, nor did it make pleasant parents.

My grandfather and dad went to Amherst, and Melissa (half-sister) goes there. If legacy means anything, I could get in there easily, almost. I've spent a lot of time there; I know my way around and the names of the building. Who knows, I bet chris or I will end up there somehow. Melissa's thesis play was an operetta in the Gilbert and Sullivan style, called The Frauds. It was awesome, if you believe me as an unbiased report.

Arnie wants to be president. It was only a matter of time. Imagine that, though: [begin your impression] "I am sorry. I cannot accept your environmental [pronounce every letter] policy."

Hey, I got a haircut. I said "take off an inch." That was a mistake, because in barber-language that means "three inches" or "do to my hair what you please." Oh well. Just to prove them wrong, I'm gonna grow this for, let's see... two solid months. Oh, and Bush is a [insert expletive here]. Don't ask. Do.

Led Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks. Don't pretend you don't still have kazaa. Au revoir, mes amis. or whatever
