That's a strange omen. Nature
seems to have lost control. We have been bowing our heads towards the west, but today
the east is illuminated with
a cosmic light. In the name of Allah, if
I am right, the Pir of the Pirs is
born in the east. I am not
sure whether it is a Pir of the Muslims or a great Guru of the Hindus.
Commentary
It
was in fact Gobind Rai who was later to become the tenth Guru. Pir Bhikhan
Shah
visited him in Patna. He kept in
front of the holy child two earthen pots,
one
representing the Hindus and the other the Muslims. Strange as it was, the
child
put its hands on both the pots. It
was clear that the child was destined to
be
the Guru of the Hindus and the Pir of the Muslims.
As the Child grew up
Guru
Tegh Bahadur shifted to Anandpur Sahib. This
was a moment of history,
for
it was from this moment that Guru Tegh Bahadur was to begin his mission
against
the atrocities of Aurangzeb who was determined to establish Islam as
the
only religion.

Aurangzeb:
One God, Allah. And there
shall be one faith, Islam. Bring every citizen of this land under Islam.

the Emperor! If any one

Auragzeb:
Kill him. If all of
them resist, kill all of them. Demolish
their schools and
the temples.
Build mosques at those sites.
Second courtier I suggest that we convert the Brahmins first. They are the
leaders of the class. If they are converted, the others will
follow suit.
Third Courtier We should start with the Kashmiri Pundits. They are the most
stubborn.

of Kashmir is fit for the

Aurangzeb In the name of Allah, In the name of Islam, Sher Afghan,
swear now before me, to bring these pagans into the faith of
Islam. Blood or no blood I shall have my breakfast only after
seeing one and a quarter mound of their sacred thread on my
table. There shall be One
god , One faith. Islam.

Commentary
Some
Hindus who succumbed to the pressures of the
ruling elite became Muslims and became
rich
overnight. Those who refused to
give up their faith were pulled out of their homes and
killed.
Even the
Muslims who supported the Hindus were killed. The Indian soil was moist
with
the blood of its innocent children , Muslims as well as Hindus.
The air was thick with
evil.
The innocent ones had to somehow defend themselves. The first step in
this direction was
the
secret meeting of some prominent
Brahmins and the Kashmiri pundits somewhere in
Kashmir.

The Divine Voice
This
is a moment of great test. Accept
it and Go to Sri Anandpur Sahib. There is the ninth
Guru
present on the true throne of Guru Nanak. Take
refuge in him. He is the ship of hope in
the
dark slimy ocean of the Kalyug. He can save you from this moment of suffering
and agony.

time has come for the sacrifice of great lives.
Blood will flow, the fragrant air of Delhi will be filled with the stench
of burning and boiling bodies.

Commentary
After
a couple of days, Guru Sahib decided to court arrest.
The entire community was shocked. They
were just mute witnesses to the unfolding of history. They prayed that things would change. But it didn’t. Guru
Tegh Bahadur had decided to court arrest. So
he, along with five Sikhs, left for Delhi.

Any one who can accompany Guru Sahib is a lucky one.
At the very moment one is called to accompany the Guru the purpose of
his life is accomplished. Now,
who are those lucky ones?

They were Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Dayal Das Ji, Bhai

I am just a Patsha. You hear
me? Release the prisoners. Release
those God damn Brahmins. Go, go all

this man really divine? I believe
in one God. That is Allah.
I believe in one religion. That
is Islam. Now tell me, Is this man divine? Is this man really divine?
Can you hear my heart beat? Can
you hear the pounding rhythm of my temples?
I believe in God. I believe
in holiness. I shall not soil my hands with the blood of a holy man. History
shall never call me the murderer of a Saint. Sher Afgan, my friend, tell me, is
this man really divine?

Sir, the entire population calls him a divine one.

All right, if he is truly divine, I shall release him. But he has to prove that he is a divine one.
Ask him to show some divine power. If
he does not, he shall embrace our faith. Or
else… he shall die.

One Women Mataji, you are the keeper of the house of Baba Nanak that has been
the sustenance of our lives. We came to pay our respects to our Guru
Tegh Bahadur. Now that he is in the custody of Aurengzeb, can we
have a darshan of his son? They say, Gobind Rai ji is a divine child
and any one who gets a glimpse of him will experience great bliss.
Mataji It is not in my power to call him. I shall try. (She rises to call him.)

Son, I know the words in your mouth. W have been waiting for those words.
Speak out. The moment of truth has come.

The house of Nanak is not a shack built on loose sands.
It is built on the rocky foundations of valour, justice, honour and
holiness. It shall not crumble at
the whiff of a wind. Speak out.
