Parts Watch List

Due to the nature of our projects here at Works in Progress, we're always on the lookout for various parts. In collecting these parts, we're hoping to provide the Jeep owner and mechanic with more useful information, as well as looking to make some modifications a little easier to bear.

Unless otherwise noted, these parts need not be in "installable" condition, since they're not going to be installed on an engine. These are "bench parts" - we're working on making things easier, and that means more work for us. This work is easier to do on the workbench than it is to do on the vehicle, believe me!

Fortunately, we're not after "pristine" parts - most of them are going to end up being cut up anyhow. The exhaust manifold, for instance, is going to be measured against the 1987-1990 I have hanging on the wall, and the the tubes are going to be cut off so I don't have to wrestle with them while I'm working out adapting it to earlier heads. I'll probably handle the intakes the same way - again, to make things easier for me (and to make the swap writeup better.)

So, this is a good chance to get rid of old parts, and "help out The Cause." Please contact me before you crate them up to ship - I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance to pick them up, if you're near the San Francisco Bay Area, and I'm not in any hurry - so slow but "best price" shipping is just fine. We're also willing to cover shipping the parts out to us, but it might take a bit - a disadvantage of maintaining "competitive pricing" on our parts.

Cylinder Head, #7120	1991-1995 AMC242 Engine	This one is probably going to be difficult to locate, since it's popular for swaps. I don't care if it's cracked or warped, since I'm going to cut it up anyhow. I'd like two of these, if it can be managed (if I get one, I'll update this to "one more.")

Intake Manifold	1991-1995XJ/YJ/ZJ	Again, this need not be servicable. One will do, but I need this to evaluate suitability for adaptation to earlier cylinder heads.

Intake Manifold	1999/2000-up XJ/WJ/TJ	As for "1991-1995 Intake Manifold," above
Exhaust Manifold	1991-up AMC242	I merely need this to check mounting against the earily (1987-1990) exhaust manifold for adaptation. Cracked collector/cracked or warped flange OK.
Throttle Body, HO	1991-up AMC242 Engine	As I understand it, all of these are the same. I simply need to be able to figure out how to adapt 1987-1990 AMC242 throttle linkages and such to the later throttle body. If possible, I'd like to get one "compleat with sensors" - they don't need to be new, but that will allow me to sort out adapting the IAC and TPS as well.
