Little Rattlesnake September 1999

Part 1 --- Page 1 of 2

This trip turned out to be more of a challenge than we had planned. Labor day week-end, my brother and I started out on the Lynn Lake trail, then along Bethel Ridge and we ended on a short trail in the Little Rattlesnake area. This last 2.6 mile stretch took us 8 hours and cost a broke front driveline and bent front leaf spring on the Scout. We ended up ditching it on the side of the trail about 10 p.m.. I got home about midnight, fixed the driveline for my brother and was up early the next morning. We took the jeep and my pickup with trailer back up to retrieve the Scout. After putting the driveline back on, Ben was able to drive it out to the end of the trail and onto the trailer.

The first hillclimb to Lynn Lake.

My son Nate, on the Bethel Ridge road.

Getting started on the Little Rattlesnake trail #1102. It seemed pretty easy on the first section.

Dropping down into the creek started us into the hard part.

Ben trying to figure out how to avoid the large stump on the passenger side.
