Bring Your Anti-Freeze Back To Life With Siloo(R) Anti-Freeze Booster(TM) Heavy Truck Cooling System Treatment

WARMINSTER, PA-- One of the leading causes of expensive downtime and major engine problems is related to improper cooling system maintenance. Heavy truck cooling systems operate under extreme conditions daily, and when running with a conventional coolant require a supplemental coolant add0A8 itive (SCA) to properly protect the cooling system components.

CRC Industries introduces: Siloo(r) Anti-Freeze Booster(tm) Heavy Truck Cooling System Treatment.
This SCA, engineered specifically for heavy trucks, recharges the additives in worn-out anti-freeze so you don't have to spend valuable time and money flushing and replacing gallons of anti-freeze.

Just pour Siloo(r) Anti-Freeze Booster(tm) into your conventional or extended-life coolant to add an extra boost of protection, clean your cooling system and fight against rust and corrosion. A special anti-foam agent prevents cavitation and pitting which can erode the cylinder lining and allow coolant to seep into the combustion chamber - leading to major engine problems.

Siloo(r) Anti-Freeze Booster(tm) provides superior heat transfer capabilities, lubricates water pump seals and conditions hoses. This additive stabilizes the pH balance of your coolant to prevent hard water deposits, hot spots and solder bloom - maximizing the coolant flow and extending the life of your anti-freeze and cooling system.

Use Siloo(r) Anti-Freeze Booster(tm) in old coolant or new, conventional or extended-life. All types of anti-freeze can benefit from corrosion inhibitors, cleaning agents, added lubricity and properties to coat and protect metal surfaces. Just pour and go!

- Refreshes additives in old anti-freeze
- Fortifies additives in new anti-freeze
- Extends life of anti-freeze and cooling system
- Stabilizes pH balance to prevent hard water scale,
hot spots and solder bloom
- Anti-foam agent prevents cavitation and pitting
- Protects against rust and corrosion
- Cleans entire cooling system
- Prevents silicate drop-out and gel formation
- Improves engine cooling
- Provides superior heat transfer capabilities
- Lubricates water pump seals and conditions hoses
- Adds corrosion inhibitors and a protective coating
- Compatible with all types of anti-freeze

Auto Interiors Show Registration Outpacing 2001

DETROIT - Pre-show attendee registration for The 2002 Auto Interiors Show is up 22.7 percent compared to the same time period for the 2001 show, according to show organizers. The Show, which runs from May 14-16 at the Cobo Center, is the most influential annual exposition and conference solely focused on automobile interior design and technology.

"We're absolutely elated with the higher registration numbers we're already seeing," said Joe Randall, Group Show President. "With the auto industry sensing the economy is starting a turn-around, we think that exhibitors and attendees know the time is right to get back to growing business. A highly-focused, specialized event like The Auto Interiors Show offers them a valuable opportunity to get new ideas, gain access to the experts, network and maximize marketing dollars."

Presented by Auto Interiors Magazine, the Show showcases top vehicle interior products, components and capabilities. The Show also provides attendees the opportunity to network with representatives from some of the interiors industry's most influential suppliers and OEMs.

Among the participating automakers are General Motors, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Rolls-Royce and Bentley, Renault, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Toyota, Honda and Fiat. Participating suppliers include 3M, Delphi, Visteon, Magna, Seton Leather, Collins & Aikman, Johnson Controls, Lear, Siemens, Dow, Sprint PCS, Wingcast, OnStar, ATX, AT&T Wireless, and dozens more.

Highlights in 2002 include the following events co-locating at the Cobo Center during The Auto Interiors Show.

These three are new this year:
-Automotive Textiles, Plastics and Coatings Association workshops, May 14
-Industrial Designers Society of America Conference, May 14
-Automotive Sealant Council Conference, May 16

In addition, these shows will be co-located again this year:
- EyeForAuto Telematics 2002, May 15-16
- Adhesive and Sealant Council Seminar, May 16
-INDA Non-Woven Fabric Association's Seminar, May 16

In addition, the Auto Interiors Show will have an extensive conference program including more than 38 panel discussions and addresses on critical issues and technologies confronting vehicle manufacturers' interior design and manufacturing staffs and their suppliers.

CRASH TEST RESULTS

Three small sedans and the Kia Sedona minivan all performed poorly in low-speed bumper bashing conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

The Arlington, Va., insurance industry group said the vehicles sustained from $2,515 to $3,169 damage in four 5 mph crashes.

The worst performer was the 2002 Kia Sedona minivan, which had more than $1,000 damage in each of the four tests -- in which the front end is driven into a flat barrier, the rear backed into a flat barrier, the front into an angle barrier and the rear into a pole. Damage to the Sedona totaled $9,747, an average $2,437 per test.

The worst performance was the front into flat barrier crash in which the vehicle sustained $4,305 in damage.

"It was the worst minivan we've tested," said Adrian Lund, the Institute's chief operating officer. "The Sedona's bumpers simply failed -- the plastic bar cracked in all four tests and the bumper cover had to be replaced after three of the four tests."

The institute said both the driver's side and front passenger airbags deployed in the 5 mph flat barrier crash, earning the Sedona a rating of "poor." The airbags cracked the minivan's windshield and top of the instrument panel, and both had to be replaced. Airbags should not deploy in low-speed impacts.

The three cars tested -- the Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer and Volvo S40, all 2002 models -- were rated "marginal." The Impreza sustained total damage of $2,515, an average $629 in the four bumper crashes. The Lancer had $3,104 total damage for a $776 average and the Volvo totaled $3,169 in damage for a $792 average.

"Bumpers that bump apparently weren't a consideration during the design phase," said Lund.

CONSUMER REPORTS' BEST USED CARS

Consumer Reports' 2002 April Auto Issue report, "High value, lower risk," includes an extensive list of reliable used cars in various price ranges, which have proven to be above average in reliability.

Listed alphabetically, they are: Acura Integra, Acura RL, Acura TL, BMW 3-Series, Ford Escort, Ford F-150 (2WD), Geo/Chevrolet Prizm, Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Honda CR-V, Honda Odyssey, Infiniti G20, Infiniti I30, Isuzu Oasis, Lexus ES300, Lexus GS300/GS400, Lexus LS400, Lexus RX300, Lincoln Town Car, Mazda Millenia, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Mazda Protg, Mercury Tracer, Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Sentra, Saab 9-5, Saturn S-Series, Subaru Forester, Subaru Impreza, Subaru Legacy, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Avalon, Toyota Camry, Toyota Camry Solara, Toyota Celica, Toyota Corolla, Toyota RAV4, Toyota Sienna, and Toyota Tacoma.

At the other end of the spectrum, CR lists many Reliability Risks, which have exhibited several years of poor overall reliability, and an extensive listing of Used Cars to Avoid, which are models that have consistently had below-average reliability.

The April Auto Issue ($4.95) goes on sale March 19 and is generally available where magazines are sold. It may also be ordered online at ConsumerReports.org/newcars.
