Not much was new for 1984. The S/E got a new, leather-wrapped wheel, and there was a special, 15th anniversay T/A offered in limited numbers.
The 15th anniversary package for the Trans Am included a variety of special equipment. Finished in white with blue accents, the exterior included white ground effects and grille inserts. Blue, IROC-style door stripes saying "TRANS AM" were on the lower part of the doors. For the first time, 16 inch rims were available on an Fbody, and these were wrapped with P245/50/R16 Goodyear Eagle GTs. The interior had Recaro seats, with blue "Trans Am" inserts. The steering wheel was wrapped in white leather, and T-tops were standard. The engine was the 190hp 305 H.O. V8, with a 5 speed manual. The option cost $3,500, and 1,500 were built.
Standard, base coupe: LQ9 2.5 litre EFI four, 92hp
Optional, base coupe: LC1 2.8 litre 2bbl V6, 112hp
Standard, S/E: 2.8 litre 2bbl H.O. V6, 125hp

A new option for '84 was the aero package, available on Trans Ams. For only $200 extra, it was the same aero package as the 15th anniversary T/A had. It included a complete ground effects package, as well as grille blockouts. It was very similar to the look of the '85 T/As.
