Thank you for taking interest in G-SOLA.   This Starlite was built in 1989 and first flew in 1990.  It was permitted in the early nineties as a taildragger but as the undercarriage was damaged during a take off, it was decided to rebuild with a nose wheel The paint that had been applied on the initial build was very heavy and at some stage the wings had been stored badly with water ingress causing the paint to lift in places.  At that time no permanent damage to the wing structure could be found but I decided to totally strip the paint, inspect and repaint anyway. This is why the paint is now good.  I covered the ply wings with a light glass cloth to help waterproof and enhance the finish.  I spent the next eighteen months doing the work.  It took me this long due to being posted away in the RAF. My first flight was in 1998. The plane is a breeze to fly. It handles similar to the Pulsar but quicker in role and pitch.  The Rotax 447 engine is more than adequate for the airframe. Over the next few years I was working in Kuwait so had to store it again.  I fitted a new Arplast composite ground adjustable prop (which has been cleared for use by the PFA), and flew it between July and October 2002. Unfortunately, I moved to the Middle East again so this is the last time I flew it.  I have done plenty of taxi runs etc over those non flying periods to keep all the parts free and working.  There is about (I don't have the log books here with me in the USA) 30-35 hours on the engine and about 25-30 hours on the airframe, (Approx).  The engine runs like a dream and I never had any overheating or cooling problems while flying or on the ground.  Cruise speed (depending on prop pitch) is around 100-115 MPH and burns 2.5 gals per hour on average. I always use Silkolene Synthetic racing oil in the fuel.   There is little actual hands on work that I know of that needs to be done for the inspection. It had been ready for an inspection last year but I didn't get it done before I had to go away again.  All that it needs for a permit (as far as I know) is to complete the test flying schedule for the undercarriage/prop.  Over my flying periods, I did all the necessary testing. I've done any improvements as and when the inspections required.    I have now moved to the United States so need to move it from the hanger and am prepared to sell it for 6.5k .   I am making a pretty big loss at that price and as I'm sure you are aware it's a very nice little aeroplane. I also have the car registration G5 OLA on retention which is available for an additional cost, if required.  It comes with cradles for the wings to attach to the airframe for transportation.
