  • Favourites
A special folder that is used to store favourite web addresses. The sites can be revisited by clicking on the required address.

  • File
Data stored on the computer. Technically, files are limited to any data that has not been created by the user, ie program files, or temp files.

  • Floppy Disc
A removable disc used to store data. The floppy disc can hold 1.44 Mb of data. Click
    here for more information.

  • Font.
Computers have many hundreds of different fonts or typefaces.

  • Format
Formatting wipes all data from a disk drive. Remember NEVER format your C Drive as you would lose all your program files, causing the computer to stop working the next time it was started.

  • FTP (File Transfer protocol)
FTP is the way in which information is taken off and added to the Internet. There are many different FTP programmes available.
