Chapter 1: The Meeting Continued

Rejean was stirred from his nap in the chair by some load beeps and whistles from the little astromech droid. Rejean rises from his chair only to notice some light shinning in through the windows. "I slept long than I though," he stated to himself as he began walking towards the kitchen. He walked into the kitchen over to the cabinets above the stove. He opened the cabinets and began to pull various items down and set them on top of the stove. After Rejean had found everything he needed, he picked up a knife and began to chop up these various items, preparing to make what seemed to be a stew.

After all the items had been chopped up, Rejean took a medium sized black pot and exited the cottage. A few minutes later Rejean returned with the pot filled with water. The little droid beeped upon his entry into the cottage. Rejean smiled at the droid and then went back to work in the kitchen. He started adding spices and chopped up pieces of food to the water in the pot. After everything desired was in the pot, Rejean set it on top of the wood burning stove. Rejean then opened the stove and added a few small logs he had stacked in the corner, and then he set them a flame.

Rejean returned to his chair, leaving the stew to heat up and come to a boil. He turned his chair to face the wounded pilot and waited for the man to regain consciousness.

About an hour later, after the stew was done, the man began to stir in the bed. He tossed and turned until finally he shook himself awake. The pilot laid in the bed on his back for a moment, looking around, trying to figure out where he was. Finally he looked over and saw the old man sitting in the chair next to him.
"Finally awake I see," Rejean said as he climbed to his feet and walked around the corner. He returned a minute later with a bowl of stew and he handed it to the pilot. "Here," Rejean said as he gave the man the stew, "eat this stew, it will be good to get some nourishment."

The pilot nodded, propping himself on one elbow and accepting the bowl from the old man.

Rejean smiled at the man and reclaimed his seat in the chair. "My name is Rejean, I told you this yesterday but I wasn't sure you would remember. You X-Wing crashed not far from here, and I dragged you back here, with the help of your droid of course. You were unconscious, and have been since last night. I am quite impressed though; a bad crash like that and you only sustained a broken leg. Well anyway, now that you know what happened and who I am, I would like you to feel free to ask any questions you want, but first I would like to ask you your name." Rejean finished and just sat there for a minute while the pilot studied him. Rejean was a patient man and he would wait until the pilot felt comfortable enough with his surroundings to speak.

For the next few minutes the man just laid in the bed, starring at Rejean, trying to determine if Rejean was truly trying to help him or if some other agenda was at play. After a small amount of time went by and the bowl of stew had been completely consumed the pilot spoke. "My name is Luke Skywalker, and that astromech droid is R2-D2, and I am from the planet Tatooine. I am a Jedi Knight trained by Obi-Wan Kenobi and master Yoda. I was on my way to Coruscant when I was intercepted by a small ship, a ship from before the time of the Empire. This ship was an old Sith Infiltrator called the Stryker, and it was piloted by a man who called himself Darth Railion. This man hailed me before he began to fire on me. I lost this ship in a nearby asteroid belt, but by that time my ship was so badly damaged there was nothing I could do. My X-Wing was headed straight for this planet, and this is were it came crashing down. I think you know everything that happened from that point on," the pilot finished, rolling back onto his back in the bed. The names mentioned by Luke had sparked some kind of memory with Rejean, and Rejean was now remembering people and places from long ago, things from his long forgotten past. "I have to get out of here, I want no harm brought to you. Do you have a ship that I can take so that I can reach my destination at Coruscant?"

"Sorry, I have no ship. You sound like an important person though, I am sure some one will be looking for you shortly. Luke Skywalker you said was your name? Well I knew a Skywalker once, he went by the name of Anakin."

"You knew my father?" Luke said suddenly, sitting up once more.

"Yes I did, in fact I was a good friend of your father's. Obi-Wan was a friend of mine too. We were all Jedi Knights, back in those days before the Empire when the Jedi Knights flourished. Yoda sat at the head of the Jedi Council; Palpatine was head of the Republican Council, back before we knew who Palpatine truly was. Those days were different from these, it was the Empire that came along and changed everything."

"The Empire is no more," Luke said suddenly, "It was destroyed along with Emperor Palpatine."

"Is that so. Well, all things, good or bad, eventually come to an end. Anyway, this man that you said was chasing you, Darth Railion, I knew him as well. He was a Jedi Knight once, Trained by my master Riekar-Kahm. Railion then turned to the dark side, training under the Sith Lord Whan-Va. Whan-Va was kill by my master and Railion killed Riekar-Kahm. So I guess that our existence, mine and Railion's, is interwoven."
Luke looked at Rejean, a little confused now, "Master Yoda said that there could only be two Sith's at one time, or they would eventually destroy each other."

"Well Luke, that was one thing I learned that master Yoda was wrong about. First of all, a few of us Jedi came to classify turned Jedi Knights into two different categories, there were Dark Jedi and there were the Sith. The Dark Jedi were bad, not caring about anything just wanting everything they could get for themselves. The Sith were truly evil, they were bent on destroying everything and taking over the galaxy, as Emperor Palpatine proved. Master Yoda did say that there could only be two Sith at one time, evil begets evil type of thing, but he didn't account for the dark Jedi. I also learned that there were more than two Sith in the universe as well, and I came to realize that there could be more than two Sith, but more than two could not coexist with each other. So as long as the Sith didn't know about any of they other Sith, balance was maintained. You see what I am saying Luke?"

Luke nodded, the confusion fading from his eyes.

Rejean stood up, "You get some rest now Luke Skywalker, and tomorrow I will tell you of my adventures throughout this universe. I will tell you of the way of old, back before I was your age." Luke nodded in agreement and then drifted off to sleep.
