As a kid growing up around the time of the Classic Trilogy, I remember playing with the Star Wars toys that were available at the time (man do I wish that I still had them now). Engaging the Dark Side and the Empire in battle after battle as a member of the Rebel Alliance. The only thing that my parents never got me was my own toy lightsaber, and after seeing the destruction that my son and I cause with them now I can see why. Ever since then I was a fan. I would watch the movies on TV whenever I saw that they would be broadcast. But like some people, I started to develop a dry spell from the lack of new Star Wars action. Then, in the mid 90's Lucasfilm LTD gave a press release that they would be continuing the Star Wars saga after all this time, except it wasn't going to be post-ROTJ, but pre-ANH instead. On top of that they were re-releasing the Classic Trilogy as a remastered Special Edition. This was exactly what I needed to refill the Star Wars well inside of me.

Now I'm a twenty six year old father of one who has passed his Star Wars affliction on to his son. Both of us went to see Episode II when it first came out in the movie theatres. It was great to share this experience with him. The funny thing about taking him to see Episode II was that he would get so excited during certain scenes in the movie, to the point where I had to calm him down. Then just as soon as he was settled, I would get all excited about something and have to put myself back in check. I also went to see Episode II in the IMAX format with my father. Putting my bias opinion aside, there aren't that many movies that I can think of that would be fit or even make sense to convert into the IMAX format, but Star Wars was definately an experience to be had. It was so intense that during the opening scene where the Naboo Starfighters are escorting the Royal Starship through the clouds to Coruscant, the deep base that the seventy-four speakers in the theatre pump out from the rumble of the engines was so strong that it shook the clothes that you were wearing. Some people even got a small case of motion sickness while watching the speeder chase scene with Obi-Wan and Anakin chasing after Zam Wessell, due to the large screen the theatre uses. Anyway, that's me and my story. I hope you enjoy my site and keep checking back for more features and updates!
