I awoke with a start.

“Lie still, boy,” cooed a voice, “you will soon feel fine.”

“Oh,” I groaned, “why did I not die?”

“Kyle brought you back,” I heard Eros say, “for Zach and I cannot live with out you.”

“Zach is dead. He is dead with Jeffery. I killed them both, I did, for I hate them both as I hate you,” I spat at Eros.

Eros, with a tear in his eye, backed off and Kyle and Gloria, Kyle’s wife, stepped up to my side.

“So ungrateful,” tsked Gloria, “so ungrateful to be brought back from the dead. You are as bratty as I have heard and your tongue is sharp. You, like Zach, would fare well to shut your mouth.”

“Witch,” I cursed angrily.

“Whining child,” she countered, “it is hard to believe anyone still loves a nuisance like you!”

I shot up in my bed.

“I will kill you, woman!”

Kyle’s hand brought my small frame crashing back down to the mattress. His booming voice swallowed everything else in the room.

“You will do nothing, boy. She is right; it is a wonder anyone still cares about you. But, perhaps Eros and Zach still care fo you out of pure guilt, their actions having driven you to death or something of the sort. But make no mistake, little Jacob, they are the only ones who love you for the sole reason that they are the only ones who are able to put up with your sordid little games and lifestyle.”

So yet again, I was shattered. My desolate, insignificant little life crumbled and fell to the foot of my bed as I once more lost the will to live.

“If you are so ungrateful, Kyle can take you out of this world just as quickly and easily as he brought you back,” whispered Gloria.

“Do not say such horrible things,” gasped Eros.

But it was too late. With no will left, I let my mind slip away and I fell into the death-like sleep I remain in to this day…
