A Knight's Tale

* * * * This movie stars Heath Ledger; directed by Brian Helgeland.

If you like exciting, action packed drama, interesting, compelling stories, and watching talented pretty people on screen, you really can't go wrong with this movie.

If you hate watching jousting and sword fighting, and like it when stories are so twisted and contrived that they are a shadow of their original form, watch Roswell, but skip this one.

It's no secret that I really REALLY enjoyed this movie. It had everything that I liked seeing in movies: interesting characters, logical plots, excellent character development, and a satisfying ending that wasn't too incredibly predictable.

The story is about a Thatcher's son named William who wanted to become a Knight ever since he was a very small boy. He left his father and his home to become a Page to a Knight at a very young age. When his master suddenly dies, (apparently of old age) William gets the chance to show the world what he knows about jousting. Meanwhile, he captures the heart of a beautiful noblewoman, and the eye of a ruthless competitor. (This competitor, I forget his name, has the coolest eyes I have ever seen, by the way.)

Anyway, if you have not seen this movie, go rent it! It is very very good! The only reason I did not give it a perfect score was because I don't particularly like watching guys stab each other with large wooden sticks. Those parts were pretty violent, and I sometimes had to close my eyes. Other than that, it was an all-around fabulous movie!
