  • The Sabres are out. I was kind of hoping they'd make it to the finals, but that wasn't to be, I guess. They put up a hell of a fight, though. They should be proud. Carolina and Edmonton start duking it out for the Stanley Cup on Monday night. If Edmonton wins the Stanley Cup, it will be the first Stanley Cup win for a Canadian team since 1993.
  • The Yankees also lost last night. The game was almost in the bag for them, but Detroit managed to pull it out. I almost hate to say it, as I don't exactly like bashing players, but we needed Rivera. Badly. (By the way, a note to my dad: next time you want to say "The Yankees are going to sweep them"...don't.) Rivera and Jeter are both out tonight. Sheffield is on the DL. Let's see if we can give the Orioles a loss tonight, anyway.  Let's go, Yankees! *crosses fingers*
  • Pittsburgh Pirates swept Milwaukee, which is awesome. Go Pirates. They start a series against the San Diego Padres tonight. Again - go Pirates.
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers visited the White House today. There's just one thing...one must not say they are a "Texas Cowboys" fan in the presence of the Black and Gold. I can almost see a Secret Service agent putting a restraining hand on Joey Porter's arm as this was mentioned.
