Sabres force Game 7; Yankees let loose in the 11th inning

Still slightly miffed that I couldn't see the Sabres-`Canes game last night. It was on OLN and TSN...wtf?? I get CBC here. With it being a Canadian station, you'd think they'd show more hockey, but I guess they only care about Edmonton. But anyway. The good news is that the Sabres won in OT last night, 2-1 0ver Car0lina. That's the second OT game in a row between these two, Game 5 being won by Carolina. Game 7 is Thursday (on OLN or TSN), and I don't expect it to be any different.  Except hopefully it'll be sending Buffalo, not Carolina, to face Edmonton. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Go Sabres.

The game between the Yankees and the Detroit Tigers was all locked up until the Yankees let loose with 5 runs (Alex Rodriguez, Jason Giambi, Terrence Long, Robinson Cano, and Bernie Williams) in the 11th inning. Probably would have won the game in the 9th, but Cano started sliding too soon and was called out just short of home plate. But a win's a win. And those 5 runs in the 11th were awesome. We're now tied with Boston for the division. And keeping a close eye on Toronto.  None of that matters right now, obviously. Just one game at a time. The next game in the Detroit series is tonight, and Moose is probably pitching.

Before I sign off, kudos to ESPN for recognizing at least that Bonds' quest is not yet over. Where the headline read just the other day "Chasing Ruth," it now reads "Chasing Aaron." You win, ESPN. Sort of.
