Blogging the world of sports, focusing mostly on football and baseball. From the perspective of a Steelers/Yankees fan.
New Season. New Coach. New Start.

So it's the 75th birthday of the Pittsburgh Steelers this year. They unveiled the throwbacks they'll be wearing against Buffalo and in one game against Baltimore this season. Not at all bad-looking, I must say. Gold helmet, black jersey with the letters and block numbers in gold. There's going to be a mascot though, at which I must protest. We are Steeler Nation. We don't need a mascot. But anyway. Can't wait for the upcoming season. If new coach Mike Tomlin is as badass as I think he is, this season is going to rock. Seriously.

And football season can start any time now. For real. The Yankees are causing me pain, and they need to stop. I think a lot of it's coming down to poor management of the bullpen, however. Hopefully they can fix things before they get totally lost. They're playing the Red Sox right now, but it's not on TV here - I'm in Buffalo and I don't get the YES Network. Pathetic. I'm watching the Sabres game right now. Game 2 of the series against the New York Rangers. If the Sabres don't win the Cup this year, this city's going postal.

I'll be blogging the NFL draft over the next two days. Starts at 11 AM on the NFL Network, with the first pick at noon. Every mock seems to have the Steelers taking FSU's Lawrence Timmons, which no. Do not want. He's a 4-3 guy and wouldn't fit into our 3-4. Not to mention that Drew Rosenhaus is his agent, but that's another story.

EDIT: Sabres just scored. And Rick Jeannerette is the shit. Dude reminds me of Myron Cope, in that they both get excited about their respective games. Seem to love what they do, which is awesome. That is all.
