  • The Tennessee Titans signed QB Kerry Collins today, to get some experience behind starter Billy Volek. Nice to see Collins get another opportunity, even though it's as a back-up and he wants to be a starter, but I see this as more of an "Oh shit, why'd we let McNair go?" maneuver.
  • The Oakland Raiders re-signed Jeff George, a QB who hasn't played a down in, like, 5 years. Apparently Aaron Brooks wasn't good enough after all. Like the Titans, the Raiders must be wondering why they let a veteran QB like Kerry Collins take a walk.
  • Looks like the honeymoon may be over in Dallas. Terrell Owens has missed team meetings and rehab sessions and has been fined $9,500 by the Dallas Cowboys for such actions. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has downplayed the incident, comparing TO to people like Hines Ward (WTF???) and Steve Smith, both of whom are dealing with hamstring injuries similar to that of TO's.The difference between Hines and TO, Mr. Jones, is that Hines Ward would never use an injury as an excuse to miss rehab or team meetings. And a note to TO, who has said that Bill Parcells does not need to see him practice; all he needs to do is look at 10 years of tape, those 10 years of tape don't show you with a hamstring injury, you dipstick.
  • And on to the Carolina Panthers, apparently the latest to be accused of using steroids - various players on the Panthers squad at the time of their Super Bowl run in 2003 are suspected to have used steroids around that time. One of the players was punter Todd Sauerbraun - when your punter gets caught, you know you're in trouble. So now what? What's the NFL going to do, strip them of their 2003 NFC title?
