Word on the street is that Ben won't wear a Revolution helmet that would protect his face better than his current helmet does. He apparently has been wearing a green thing over his helmet during practice so that everyone else will know where he is and not run into him or anything. Smart move, I guess. It may be only practice, but it can be as crazy as an actual game, as backup center Chukky Okobi found out last week. He herniated a disc and may be out for the season. His career may even be over. I'd hate to see this happen, because he's barely gotten a chance to play, what with Jeff Hartings still around and all. I guess this clears the way for draft pick Marvin Philip to make the team as Hartings' backup.

And then there's Barrett Brooks. He got arrested on the South Side in Pittsburgh the other night around 2:30 AM; he was eluding police on a motorcycle. And no, he wasn't wearing a helmet. He's, like, third-string on the offensive line, so I doubt he's going to make it. I don't think anyone was too impressed with him to begin with. You can say what you want about Ben and his motorcycle-riding, but at least he has experience and goes within the speed limit. Even if he doesn't wear a helmet. `Bye, Barrett.
