  • The Carolina Hurricanes claimed their first Stanley Cup title in the history of the franchise Monday night, and rookie goaltender Cam Ward claimed the MVP award. Congrats to them. I've been there...and Monday night I was having flashbacks to Super Bowl Sunday. Yes, guys...this is what it's like to be a champion.
  • Same goes for the Miami Heat, who claimed their first NBA title in the history of the franchise Tuesday night. My favorite part? The part where Shaquille O'Neal gets his fourth championship. He's one of the best in the game. Dwyane Wade claimed the MVP title. There will come a time when he, too, will be considered one of the best - if that time hasn't come already. And as John Saunders said, "The Pittsburgh Steelers win their fifth Super Bowl, Pat Riley wins his fifth NBA title." Well said. As the Mavs join the Seahawks in complaining about the refs. Get over it, guys. SCOREBOARD! No one can take that away. Especially when the teams and their fans have waited so long.
  • Perhaps I spoke too soon about Santonio Holmes a couple of weeks back. He was arrested on Monday on charges of assault and domestic violence. This is his second arrest in a month. I'm willing to give him a third chance, as long as the team is. But if he screws up again...three strikes, I hope he's out of here. But until that time comes...you know the rest. But between this and Ben's accident, we're already being put down for the count. Whatever. They put us down last year, too, and look where we landed. But just another word on Ben's accident - everyone is now doubting him. Saying he's going to be too cautious on the field. It's not like he broke his jaw and nose on the gridiron, guys. He's not going to be too cautious on the field. He's just never going to get on a motorcycle again. The dude's a tough cookie. He's tough as, well, steel. He'll be fine. And so will we. Next!
  • The US Soccer team got knocked out of the World Cup yesterday. By Ghana. The  sad thing is that I know very few people who could locate Ghana on a map. But that said, we're out. Not like anyone cares around here. This is why we didn't do well - no one cares.
