It's three moons orbited around the planet and the sun shining like a fireball in the distance. Cala was a prosperous planet with it valuable resource of the corma gems. Corma gems were similar to Corusca gem and almost as equally as valuable. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan looked out the view port. Obi-Wan looked in awe at the beauty of the planet. Maybe I should go wake up Jaina, Obi-Wan thought. Usually Jaina would be up here with Qui-Gon in the co-pilot chair, but she was asleep and Obi-Wan was helping Qui-Gon with the landing procedures. Qui-Gon looked at his padawan and was amused. This wasn't Qui-Gon's first trip to Cala. He had come here many years ago when he had just become a knight. Cala was very beautiful, with its old temple like housing and the giant Castle that sparkled in the sunlight. He sense his padawan need to go wake up his sister. "Go." It was all Qui-Gon had to say. Obi-Wan knew exactly what his master was talking about. He gave Qui-Gon a lopsided smile and got out of his chair. He rushed out the cockpit and ran down the corridors to the cabin Jaina was sleeping in. He opened the door and heard its usual hiss sound and hurried to Jaina's bedside. "Jaina, wake up!" Obi-Wan said loudly. He watched as his sister roll over and mumbled something to soft to hear. "Comon', wake up!" He started to shake her. She rolled over and opened one eye. She looked at Obi-Wan for a moment and just stared at him. "Well, aren't you going to get up?" Obi-Wan asked. She shook her head and sat up. She looked around at her surroundings as if she had forgotten where she was. "What is it, Obi-Wan. It better be good." Jaina said with a tired tone in her voice. Obi-Wan looked at her and started to talk. "We nearing the planet Cala. You have to see this, Jaina! I know you'll like it. If you hurry up and get dressed maybe you'll get to see it. Plus, I think it would be better if you help master with the landing procedures. So hurry up and get dress!" He walked out of the cabin to let his sister get dressed. ============ They walked down the ramp and on to the landing platform. The morning sun beaded down onto the Jedi faces. Jaina and Obi-Wan welcomed the warmth with happiness. The coolness of the ship was too much for a week trip. They pushed back their hoods and walked beside Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan at his left and Jaina at his right. Qui-Gon walked in long strides towards the blue armored guards. A guard in his mid-thirties came forward and stopped the Jedi. "Are you the protectors sent from Coruscant?" The guard said in a mono-toned voice. He had purple eyes and sandy blonde hair with streaks of silver in it. He was tall for a Calan, but still didn't come near the height of Qui-Gon. Calans were humanoids and the only thing different was their eyes and hair. Most Calans had purple or red eyes, but some would have blue. It was very rare and only maybe a few out of a couple thousand had them. Also their hair were streaked with a varity of colors. Either silver, green, black, and orange. "Yes, we were sent here to protect her highness and the heirs to the throne." Qui-Gon said in his usual neutral tone. The guard nodded and escorted them to the palace. Obi-Wan and Jaina looked around in amazement. Everything was so bright and colorful, cheerful. They past threw the gardens and courtyard. Exotic planets and animals covered almost every inch and they were beautiful. The whole planet was beautiful. Although the planet was up to date with the latest technology, it didn't show it. They continued through the courtyard and then went back into the palace. They walked down long corridors filled with holopics and flowers. Qui-Gon took a glance behind him to see if his padawans were still there. He saw Jaina looking at the exotic flowers and animals that carelessly ran threw the hall. He sensed that she was using the Force to contain herself and not to wonder off. He looked to his left and saw Obi-Wan looking at the weapons of the Calans. They were different and fascinating to look at. // Obi-Wan, you must keep walking padawan. // Qui-Gon said sternly through their bond. Obi-Wan looked up to see his master look at him. He lowered his head and his face turned a soft red. Jaina looked at her brother and was glad she didn't stop to pet the rabbit looking animal. They walk for about five more minutes when the stopped at a grand entranceway. It was covered with Corma gems, flowers, and tapestry. A long purple and blue carpet led to the Queen's throne. There were three thrones. The one in the middle was much bigger and more decorated than the two that flanked it. In the middle sat the beautiful queen and to her sides were two teenagers, by the looks, Jaina and Obi-Wan's age. One boy and one girl. "Your Highness," said the same guard from the landing platform in his mono-toned voice., " Here are the Jedi you asked for from the galactic core of the universe, Coruscant." The Queen looked at the Jedi with caring eyes. "Welcome, Master Jedi and padawans. I welcome you to Cala. I am Queen Kal'un and these are my children, Christopher" She indicated him to her right, "and Cassandra." She looked to her left. " We are honored that you are here." She said with a smile. Qui-Gon stepped forward and bowed, as did the twins. "We are the ones to be honored, Your Highness." He looked at her and she seemed very familiar. "I am Qui-Gon Jinn, and these are my apprentices, Jaina and Obi-Wan Kenobi. We have come here because you are in distress, Your Highness. What is the matter of the problem?" The queen looked at him as if trying to remember his face. " Master Qui-Gon Jinn, have you been to Cala before?" She asked and leaned back into her throne. Her two children staring at the Jedi. Obi-Wan and Jaina looked at the queen then at her children. Cassandra had bright purple eyes, as did her brother, with blonde hair, streaked with silver. She had pale skin and a tiny frame, from what they could tell. Christopher had a darker shade of blonde with orange streaks through his hair. His frame was not as small as his sisters, but close. Qui-Gon looked at the Queen. "Yes, I have been to Cala before, Your Highness." "You were here with another Jedi. A dark skinned man. I remember you from when I was a child." She sat up straighter in her throne. Jaina and Obi-Wan looked at their master. He didn't tell them he had been here before. "Yes, it was one of my first missions, Your Highness. I was sent her to settle as dispute between colonies." "Ah, delightful!" She smiled. "My father, the former King of Cala, said you and your fellow friend, were great Jedi. I am very so honored for you to be here. Please, take a seat and we will discuss this matter at hand." Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Jaina took a seat in front of the Queen. Qui- Gon nodded for the queen to continue. "Ah, were to start." The queen pondered. "First thing first. Assassins have been hired from an unknown. This man or woman has sent countless numbers off them and I fear my children's safety. Cassandra and Christopher are both 14 years old and have many different opinions about things. Cassandra wishes to go to the Academy of Arts and Literature, while my son, Christopher, wishes to go to the Academy of Flights. The academies are far away from home and very far from each other. I asked you to protect my children as well as find the assassins and the culprits." Qui-Gon thought for a moment. "With each child off on different parts of the world and you here, we would have to split up. Would you accept if one of my padawans protects on of your children?" Jaina and Obi-Wan looked at their master startled. Both knew they could protect, but usually they had at least either each other or their master beside them. "That's what I was aiming for Master Jinn. I learned about the Jedi when I was a little girl. I learned that a Master may only take one apprentice and that's it. I found out that you had taken on two, which is against the code, but your masters allowed it. That is why I asked for you. Instead of just two Jedi, one master and one apprentice, there are three of you. I ask you Master Jinn, may Padawan Jaina Kenobi protect Cassandra while away and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi protect Christopher?" Qui-Gon went into deep thought. Jaina and Obi-Wan had never been separated during a mission. They had been separated from him before, but never from each other. He looked over to Jaina who nodded. He could feel she didn't want to be separated, but she knew she had to accepted. He looked over to Obi-Wan and got the same feeling. "That will be fine, Your Highness, but the last time I was here, your people did not like the Jedi, with the exception of the Royal House." He said with worry in his voice. He didn't want Obi-Wan and Jaina getting hurt. "That is true, Master Jinn. I have a plan, never the less. While protecting Cassandra, Jaina will be disguised as one of her handmaidens, and before you ask about her padawan braid, that would be easy. The handmaidens have braids throughout their hair and then held back in a ponytail. Jaina's padawan braid will be looked upon as just a braid. Jaina will be the most trusted handmaiden and will always be at Cassandra's side along with three more behind." She stopped for a moment and looked at Jaina. "Do you agree with the arrangements Padawan Jaina." Jaina nodded, "Yes, Your Highness. I will do what is in my power to protect Princess Cassandra from any harm." The queen smiled warmly at her. "Thank you, Padawan Jaina. Now, for Padawan Obi-Wan. You were the tricky one." She smiled at him. "You will be, like Jaina, a royal guard to Christopher. I have asked the best hair designer to make you a wig that will not come off, not even in the shower. It's hair color will match to yours and will hide the braid and the ponytail. Like Jaina, you will be the most trusted guard. No one will know of your identities, only Cassandra, Christopher, I, and the guards and handmaidens will know. Padawan Obi-Wan, do you agree with your arrangements?" Obi-Wan nodded. "Yes, Your Highness. I will protect the prince with all my power." She smiled again. "You two are very brave and your master should be very proud of you." Qui-Gon smiled and placed his hands on his apprentices' shoulders. "I am, Your Highness." Jaina and Obi-Wan shared happiness and gratefulness through their bond. The queen clasped her hands together. "Well then, we shall get Jaina and Obi-Wan ready." They headed towards the door behind the thrones and got into disguise. =============== Jaina looked at herself in the mirror and stared in disbelief. She had never worn a dress in her life and found it uncomfortable. She had her hair in braids then pulled back into a low ponytail. The dress she had on was dark blue at the top that faded to purple. It was hooded and covered her eyes. They had put purple eye transformers in her eyes and silver streaks in her hair that would not come out without a special shampoo. She could feel her lightsabre at her side underneath the cloak of the out fit. She kept looking into the mirror trying to get use to her eyes. She pushed back the hood and looked over to the Royal dresser. "You look magnificent, darling." She smiled and grabbed Jaina's arm and sat her in a seat. "Now, for some make-up." Jaina looked at her if she had gone crazy. Make-up? I don't think so. Jaina wiggled and tried to get away from the woman. "What are you doing?" the woman asked, "Sit still." She said sternly and began to apply the make-up. When she was done, she turned Jaina around to face the mirror. Jaina looked at herself and cocked her head. This wasn't *too* bad. She thought to herself. She had a light blue eye shadow and natural colored lipstick and cover up. She got up from her seat and walked to the next room where Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon were. She walked in to see Obi-Wan getting into his jacket and Qui- Gon helping him. She giggled and they turned around. Obi-Wan's jaw seemed to drop to the floor and Qui-Gon's eyes were wide. Jaina looked at them strangely and asked, "What?" Obi-Wan walked over to get a better look. "*You* have make-up on?" "Yes, Obi-Wan." She looked at his hair. It was different from what she was used to, but it wasn't bad. Qui-Gon walked over and pushed down Jaina's hood. Her hair was braid and he could not tell that she had a padawan braid. He smiled, "You look..uh..beautiful." He didn't know how to tell her. He was used to saying to boys that they were handsome, but he wasn't used to handling girls and their feelings. Jaina blushed and nodded. "Thank you Master." The queen rushed in and took a good look at the three Jedi. "Ah, good you're ready. Jaina, Obi-Wan, you're transports leave tomorrow at dawn. Cassandra and Christopher had made requests that they want to get to know you." Jaina and Obi-Wan nodded and followed their master out of the room. ================== Queen Kal'un lead the way to the courtyard. There, Cassandra sat on the side of a fountain, while Christopher was trying to catch something in the water. Jaina and Obi-Wan shared some thoughts about the prince and princess through their bond. They were both think the samething. Are these two going to be spoiled little brats? The answer came to them when the Queen left with Qui-Gon. Cassandra jumped off her seat and came forward. "Hi, I told my mom that I wanted to get to know you better since we'll be spending a lot more time together." She said smiling. Jaina smiled back. "I'm glad to have finally to meet you, Your Highness." She bowed. Obi-Wan had gone off to talk to Christopher. Jaina heard laughing and looked up. "No, no need of formality. Just call me Cassie. No, Your Highness, Princess, stuff like that. OK?" Jaina nodded and smiled. "Ok, Cassie." Obi-Wan and Christopher were having the same conversation. Soon all four teenagers were talking and playing. ================= Qui-Gon looked at Jaina and was sorry to wake her up so early. She had to get up earlier than Obi-Wan so that she could go and get her hair and make-up done. He shook her lightly until she woke up. "Master?" She looked at him questionably. "I'm sorry Jaina, but you must get up. You have to get dress and go to get your hair and make-up done." Jaina groaned and got up. Qui-Gon left the room so she could get dressed. After Jaina got dressed, she walked over to Obi-Wan's bed side and whispered in his ear, goodbye. She gave him a kiss on the cheek and a hug, before she left the room. Qui-Gon walked Jaina to the Royal Dresser's room. There, three more handmaidens were also getting ready. Jaina sat in her chair and let the dresser do her work. In about an hour or two she was done and ready to board the ship. Qui-Gon had gotten Obi-Wan and the watched Jaina board her ship with Cassandra. Obi-Wan sent her a Force message and watched the ship disappear into the horizon. He and Qui-Gon walked back to get ready and knew that he would be leaving soon also. =========== For the second time this morning, Qui-Gon watched his padawan leave. He knew it would be hard for all of them and sent them warm, loving thoughts. He walked off the platform and walked with the queen back to the palace. T.B.C.
