Every year the tournament has a contest for the most unique uniform. The winner in 1997 was the team from Halifax. They had kilts made that went over their hockey pants and matching tams complete with a white tassle that went over their helmets.  The trophy is given out at the awards banquet at the end of the tournament.  Their entire team marched up to the podium singing a Scotish drinking song. Many of the team were, shall we say, footloose and fancyfree under their kilts and provided a show a la Mel Gibson in Braveheart.  Has a side note, this is the reason we always have a theme to our uniforms for the tournament.  I guess our team rep, Bruce Snoody(Badhairson), feels like if we can't at least play decent hockey we might as well look like drunken idiots with skates and go for this trophy!  We still haven't won it, but we're trying.
