Disclaimer, these people are not mine, the park ain't mine, but the plot's so strange no one else will take the credit.
Author's Notes, Well, the Lake George conference had at least one good thing, 6 hours at an Amusement Park with a VERY hot friend of mine (I need an evil grin smiley to go here). All of the stuff actualy happened, including sitting in the death seat.

John and Aeyrn walked through the crowded street. The steaming hot weather was bad, even with the heat resistant injections that would protect Aeyrn from Heat Delirium. Aeyrn, sweating under the hot sun, was not at all pleased.
"Why exactly are we doing this?" she asked, pulling on John's arm. The fact that he appeared to not be affected in the least by the heat only infuriated the ex-PK more.
"I told you, before we leave Earth you have to try a roller coaster." he smiled at her and led her up to the large booth, under a sign saying "The Great Escape."
"Two tickets please." asked John. After giving her the money and collecting the tickets, John and Aeyrn walked into the park.
"Oh cool! Check out the roller coaster!" John pointed up at the large, bluish green track that ran next to the couple. John turned to face Aeyrn, when he realized she was no longer there. A burst of fear shot through him, fearing someone had discovered where they had gone and had captured her. However, as he turned around he saw his fears were for naught, as Aeyrn was currently attempting to get into the line for the imposing coaster.
As he ran up to her, John suggested they try a slower ride first.
"But I want to go on this, the rotational acceleration should have some very interesting affects on biological matter." she stated quite matter-of-factly, and proceeded to get on to ride as the gate was opened up.

About a minute later, John and Aeyrn stepped off the ride, or rather, Aeyrn stepped off, while with John it was closer to staggering. "Don't worry, I promise we'll go on a slow ride next." she said with an evil smirk on her face. As they walked deeper into the park John began to wonder what he had gotten himself into.

Together they walked past many smaller rides before coming to a ride that Aeyrn would try. "It's called White-water rafting, you get into the tube and go for a ride." Aeyrn looked skeptically at the rotating circle. With a shrug of her shoulders, another habit she had picked up from John, she walked onto the ride. They sat together in the small, plastic raft, getting severely soaked as they passed through the waterfalls and over the small hills. As they once more hit the wall, a wall of water washed over the two, and Aeyrn squealed in excitement, grabing John's neck and holding on with all her might. John laughed, and, as he leaned over to the side, splashed Aeyrn with his free hand. Aeyrn looked at him. "You're dead." she stated, and proceeded to splash him with all her might.
Suddenly a voice came from the air "Please keep your hands inside the raft." Aeyrn and John looked at each other. "Oh Frell!"

Luckily they managed to get through the rest of the ride without getting into trouble. As they got off, Aeyrn noticed a large wooden coaster at the back of the park.
"I want to go on THAT!" she said pointing to it. The large coaster streched over a major part of the back of the park. "What's it called?" she asked John who was holding the map. John fumbled around with the paper, finaly seeing it as being "The Comet".
As they walked into the line John asked "Where do you want to sit?" Aeyrn made no response but to lead him into the line for the front seat. The line went quickly, and they were soon in the car.  The coaster ran up and down, hitting turns that seemed to almost throw them out of their seats. When the ride finaly ended, John motioned to Aeyrn to the small both set up next to the exit.
"See, they take a picture of you as you go," he said, looking to find their picture.
Aeyrn pointed to it up on the monitor, "Why would anyone want a picture of themselves screaming?" she asked, noticing that almost all of the people shown either had their eyes shut or were obviously screaming. 'Most humans seemed very foolish,' she thought to herself, 'what was the point in going on something for the specific purpose of being afraid?'
"It's a souvenir, you know, something to help you remember you were there."
Aeyrn looked thoughtfully at the picture, "I want one."
John smiled at her in a way that said, 'you're strange, but I love you' and bought the picture.

As they walked around the park, Aeyrn noticed a large, orange coaster with a loop and two corkscrews. John saw the look in her eyes, and resigned himself to his fate.
"Come on, the entrance is this way," he said, leading her past the various small rides and towards the entrance. The ride itself was quickly over, but, noticing the time, John told Aeyrn that they only had 15 minutes before the park would close, so Aeyrn asked to simply try the coaster again, as it had a very short line. However, as they reached the front of the line, the operator closed the gate, and hurriedly yelled into his radio for maintenance to come check out the ride.
"What's going on?" asked Aeyrn, straining to hear what the operators were saying. It appeared to be that one of the screws had fallen off of the last car, but no one knew what it went to. After running the ride once through and seeing that the car did not fall off, the operators opened the ride.
"Wow, what you want to bet that no one is going to ride in that car," said John with a laugh. As he saw Aeyrn's face, he could envision the wheels in her head turning, but before he could shout his protests she was already sitting happily in the last car, smiling at him, as if daring him to come along. John's only response was "Oh Frell," before jumping in along side.

At the end of the day, John and Aeyrn walked together out of the park, carying varous odds and ends picked up as souviners. "Admit it Aeyrn, you had fun, right?"
"Well," she said, looking straight into John's eyes with a gleam of laughter in her own, "It could have been worse. Now be a good little human and go get the car, my feet are killing me!"  John smiled and walked ahead, murmuring under his breath, "The things I do for love."

Thanks for reading! At least something good came out of my vacation! Belive it or not, the part about them not knowing if the coaster would fall apart DID happen, and after my friend foolishily made the comment that no one would dare ride in it, I had to. Hope you liked it! Feedback is loved
