The Cabot Trail

The Cabot Trail is located on Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island. It is a very mountainous area where John Cabot originally landed in 1497. There are motorist lookouts every few kilometers offering fabulous views of the mountains, coast, and ocean.

Stormy coastline on the northwest part of the trail with sunshine in the distance The story of Cabot's Landing Cabot's Landing Beach - the beach where Cabot supposedly landed, located on the south eastern part of the trail A tiny fishing village called Neil's Harbour where we took a recommended scenic detour A veritcal panoramic shot of a trickling waterfall in the large Cape Breton National Park, around which the Cabot Trail winds At ground level you can see one of the typical rocky shores of the area
Another stormy coastline along the northern part of the trail The storm clouds are hanging right above the pulloff spot where a few tourists were taking photos Here you can see layers of mountains disappearing into the haze More layered mountains - this is what we saw for the whole 6-hour trail A bizarre picnic table with a large Canadian flag; mountains in the background Another tiny fishing village called White Shore
