The technique used for this watercolor includes the use of an oiler boiler filled with black acrylic paint.

The Oiler Boiler has a fine point needle to control the flow of paint and add dimension.

If you passed your hand across the watercolor you would feel a slight raised surface.

The size of the watercolor paper is approx.: 4 5/8 inches tall x 5.5 inches wide.

The watercolor has 2 deckled edges and painted to the edge.

This piece was created for a theme competition at the Crescent City Brew House 2003.

although this piece did not receive any awards I did win best of show for Shades of Romance.

The theme was New Orleans Ladies. In this piece obviously the "Queen" with the southern magnolia in her hair, Mardi Gras beads at hand, Fleu de lis as the card symbol, wrought iron, strawberries, shrimp, crawfish, crabs, pelicans, St. Louis Cathedral, Andrew Jackson street lights, street cars and of course watermelon.
