Rosie Raindrop lived on a white fluffy cloud with her friends Rad and Randi Raindrop. They loved to play all day. They would jump into the big puffy clouds, or slide down Rebecca Rainbow. They also had another friend. Her name was Sarah Sunshine. She lived way above the clouds though, so the little raindrops hardly ever saw her.
One day, Rad asked Rosie, "What is over the edge of the cloud?"
"I don't know," she replied, "Maybe the cloud doesn't end."
"We should find out," said Rad.
So the next day, the three friends left with their umbrellas to find the edge of the cloud. When they found it, they peered over the edge. What they saw, far below them, was a vast ocean, with waves that looked as big as elephants!
"I'm scared" exclaimed Randi.
"We'll be alright," said Rad bravely.
"Bombs away!" yelled Rad as he soared towards the ocean.
"Wow!" exclaimed Rosie, "He really jumped!"
"Yeah, but I don't think I can. It looks too scary," said Randi, anxiously.
"It'll be alright," replied Rosie, "It looks like fun."
Then Rosie jumped and yelled "Whoopee!" as she went sailing down towards the ocean.
"Here goes nothing," said Randi, then "Ahhhhh!" as she followed after her two friends.
Once they were all down on the ocean, it didn't look at all as big and scary as it had from the cloud. Rad started a surfing contest which was fun for a while, but soon they started to get worried.
"How are we ever going to get back up to the cloud?" asked Randi.
"Maybe we can throw a rope and climb back up," suggested Rad.
"Where are we going to get a rope out in the middle of the ocean?" asked Randi.
"Good point," said Rosie.
"Maybe we could get on each other's backs and climb up that way," said Rad.
"We are too small and the clouds are too far away," whimpered Randi, now very close to tears.
Then, just as Randi was about to burst into tears, Sarah Sunshine came shining through the clouds and lifted the three little raindrops back up into the clouds.
The raindrops thanked Sarah as she went back up into her place in the sky above the clouds.
The raindrops were always grateful to their friend Sarah, and although the ocean had been fun, they were content being where they were, sliding down rainbows and jumping in cloud puffs.
