We are on a journey far, our path is hard and steep,
With thorns and shadows in our way, with rocks that bruise our feet;
As we climb to reach the height, we see our road is long,
Our hearts are weary and confused to be so far from home.
On bended knee we seek the Lord, the way we must discern,
The Holy Spirit lifts us up, and shows us where to turn;
Though the world may mock our choice, we're following the right,
Our eyes are clear upon our goal - the glow of Heaven's light.
Repenting of mistakes and sins, our thoughts and hearts are pure,
We reach our hands to help a friend, because our steps are sure;
Though our friends may lose their way, we know we must endure,
As faithful children of the Lord, we'll enter Heaven's door.
