i'll be playing tonight at cafe depanneur, 206 bernard west, with ORILLIA OPRY and GARBUS&GREGOIRE at around 9 o'clock. they are rad - you should totally come.
on valentine's day i'm playing in burlington, vermont, at red square so please come out if you live in or near b-town. these are my first times performing in 2006 in canada and the u.s., respectively. it'll be like ringing in the new year in february!

out with the old, in with the new.
i bought a new guitar to day, finally parting ways with another. r.i.p. bluecille, 2003-2005. i haven't settled on a name yet, but early poll results point to "green machine" as a strong cantidate, in keeping with the colour-scheme motif, and as a fitting tribute to the takamine's alarmingly emerald hue.
the green one and i will be out on on the town this very weekend for some POP MONTREAL soirees: friday the 30th, for instance, at EL SALON as part of a showcase called "women across genres," where we the ladies will be well represented in the first pop event of its kind, starting at 8pm. then, on sunday october 2nd, we hit LE DIVAN ORANGE for some delicious food followed by mandatory-moustache-presents an all-local VERY early showcase series. (which is happening all festival long, is p.w.y.c., and promises to (A) be awesome and (B) actually start early so show up at 6pm!! (i'm playing at 7.))
besides that: did you know that CATCALL, a monthly event i help organize, is gearing up for our SECOND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATORY GALA EVENING at MAIN HALL on december 1st? were you aware that we have a bunch of shows lined up the first thursday of every month at pharmacie esperanza? do you realize that, as we speak, i'm secretly conspiring with a hush-hush syndicate of super-powered musicians to record some (shhhhh) songs, at the end of october??!! or how about the fact that my last show as keyboarding maniac with classic-rock supergroup KICKERS is coming up, on october 7th, at the aforementioned MAIN HALL?
yes, truth IS stranger than fiction. just thinking about it all fills me with a mixture of excitement, sleepiness and, most of all, desire to go play my new guitar.
