Several weeks passed with him taking her out for coffee, or even out to the movies, all the while being a perfect gentleman. Je'Anne soon found herself in love with Stephane. One night as they were sitting in a cafe drinking coffee, Je'Anne told him that she wanted to introduce him to her family. He grew rigid for a moment, long enough for her to notice and she asked why. He asked her if she was ready for such a commitment as it would change things. She happily nodded and told him how much she loved him. He relaxed and the rest of the evening went as usual. That was until they were walking past Lafayette Cemetery. Stephane stopped and turned to Je'Anne and asked her if she had ever been in a cemetery late at night. She giggles some and said but of course, this was after all, New Orleans. He smiled and lept up, grabbing the top of the gate. She was amazed by this as it didn't seem to take any effort for him at all. He reached his hand down for hers, and as soon as she had clasped it, he lifted her up and over the gate, setting her down gently, again with no effort. He jumped down himself and offered her his arm. Reluctantly she slid her arm through his, shivering some. Stephane lead her through the cemetery until she was quite lost, barely being able to see the sharp spikes on the fence that surrounded the cemetery. He pulled her on to the steps of a mausoleum. She looked into his eyes questioningly. He leaned in close and whispered coldly into her ear. "Tonight you die, Je'Anne."
She stood shocked for a second, then frantically tried to pull away from him. His grip on her tightened, almost to the point that she thought for sure her bones would snap under his hand. She stopped and looked at him wide eyed. What she saw before her, she couldn't believe. Stephane had grown fangs, his blue eyes were ablaze with an unnatural light. And they were staring straight into her own. "W-what are you?" Je'Anne asked shivering in fear. "Your future Je'Anne!" he snarled and in a flash pulled her against him and sank his fangs deep into her neck. At first she tried fighting him off, as the sharp pain shot through her neck, but then she collapsed against him, the sky swirling before her eyes, then, an almost tranquil silence eveloped her as she slowly lost consciousness. She barely felt the thick, salty, yet metalic tasting liquid being forced into her mouth. She didn't see the tender way that Stephane looked at her, nor hear him as he said softly, "Now we will be together forever, chere." Violently she twisted in his arms, coughing, trying to spit out the vile tasting blood. But it was too late. She was now Kindred. Stephane craddled her to him. She offered no resistance, rather stared around in wonder and confusion. She could hear a bat flying around in the sky. The rats scratching at the wall of a nearby mausoleum. She could smell the dank odor that over ran the cemetery.......the odor of death. She could see all the intricate patterns on the headstones that surrounded them. Finally she looked at Stephane. "What have you done to me?" "You are a vampire now, Je'Anne. You will never die, never age, and will have power beyond your belief." Stephane answered as he hugged her tightly.

So began her life as a Kindred. She stayed with Stephane, learned from him, and still loved him. Things were great, for a while. They got along as they did before he Embraced her. Then things slowly started to change. He became controlling, possessive, and jealous of anyone she was around, including Sarita. Sarita, the only person she had revealed her dark secret to. Of course she had told Stephane she would never tell anyone, but she couldn't hide this from Sarita. But soon the meetings with her life-long friend grew scarce. Stephane barely let her out of the house. He grew cold to her. Abused her. She couldn't leave him, though. He ritually fed her his blood, keeping her bonded to him. Each time she threatened to leave, he
used this against her. She grew cold, yet obdiant. Secretly she plotted against him. Earned his trust, enough so that he would often leave her for days. But she knew better. She knew he had spies in the ghouls that lived in the house with them. So she stayed in, as asked. Years passed, until finally she was condident enough that he trusted her. he no longer felt that he needed to keep feeding her blood. Finally, after a year without tasting his blood, Je'Anne made her escape. She plotted and planned for months on exactly what she would do. Sarita managed to find her a 1957 Cadillac Hearse in mint condition. The body was sleek black, then interior a burgandy color. Completed with a casket in the back. Sarita had also been setting aside money for Je'Anne. Some from Je'Anne's own trust fund, at least what she could manage to take from under Stephane's nose, as he had eagerly made full use of Je'Anne's wealth. Sarita also kept up Je'Anne's estate. So when the night came that Je'Anne intented to leave, she came to her true home, bid Sarita a tearful farewell, and drove off down the road in her Hearse. She would never see her friend alive again. Her destination was preplanned. She had heard of a city in Missouri, called Necropolis. A place where all species lived together. Not to say that all was peaceful there, but she knew she could easily blend in, in such a city, and the further away from Lousianna she could get, the better. So that is where she ended up two nights later, and her new life began........
