| my love for the land. that's why i majored in environmental science in college. but the early realization that i would have to work for the man, that the goals of corporations and lawmakers were counter to the things i love, made me run screaming from my chosen career. if i'd continued, i'd be some middle management flack hating my life and wondering what happened to my ideals. i'd fondly remember the earth hippie i wanted to be, and wait for retirement, or that stroke, to excuse me from coming to work any more. instead, i took the hard road, and live my ideals. it's much better than settling for an suv and a boring job and a burdensome mortgage, and with all the practice at going against the grain, i'm becoming bolder and more radical with age. and i still love the land; it's what's brought me back to reality me when i flirted with selling my soul to corporate america. so my advice - find something you love and quit your day job. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
