KNUD PAULSON
There is little known about Knud Paulson. He was born April 1852 in Denmark, as was his wife Martha C Unknown , who was born Oct 1858. I have no death date on Knud or Martha. The 1900 IOWA Census shows that he lived in Illinois, then Wisconsin, then IOWA.
Knud was in Illinois in the late 1870's . For his oldest child Alfred PAULSON was born in 1878, Illinois . He then must have moved onto Wisconsin in the circa of early 1880's . For his next child, son Paul C PAULSON was born 1884, Wisconsin . He must have stayed in the vicinity for an while, at least until the early 1890's. For he had two more children born in Wisconsin, sons Freddie PAULSON, born 1887 in Wisconsin and then Warren PAULSON, being born 1890 in Wisconsin.
He then left Wisconsin and moved to IOWA in the early 1890's . For he had an daughter Inger PAULSON born 1893 in IOWA and then an son Arthur PAULSON born 1895 in IOWA . After this I find no trace of KNUD .
His second son Paul C PAULSON shows up in the 1920 Indiana Federal Census. It showed Paul C married and with children. The census shows him to be age 35 and born in IOWA. His wife Lily to be age 29, born in Kentucky. The census also shows two children : Archie PAULSON age 5 and Paul C PAULSON at age 7 months, both born in Indiana. Also an mother-in-law, Lillian May BAGBY at age 61 born in Kentucky. This would make Knud's son Paul C showing up in Indiana circa of 1915. If not earlier. Is it possible that the whole PAULSON family of IOWA moved to Indiana together?
There are a lot of PAULSON'S in IOWA and this also makes me wonder if perhaps when Knud PAULSON made his journey to America, that possibly an brother or brothers may have traveled with him. Or even an uncle. If anyone can fill in the missing gaps that surround Knud PAULSON and his descendents, please contact me.
