There has been no proof of who Benedict's parents are. Through process of elimination, I along with others working on this line, have determined that he is the son of Bennet and Monica WATHEN of Maryland.
Benedict just shows up in Hardy Co, WV in 1787 as a property owner. His father-in-law has adjoining land. He sells his land for pittance and shows up in Ky in 1803. Probably looking for better ground. Later he regains his land in WV and around 1810 sells his land and along with others of his family, moves to KY where he is shown to own land. He drops out of the rent rolls ( property tax list) in 1829 not to be heard of since. He probably died around this time, but there has never been any probate located for him.
His wife Drusilla is the daughter of Frances Ignatius COOMES and Cassandra CULVER, of Charles Co, Maryland. Most all of the JARBOE'S who migrated from Maryland went straight to KY except the Benedict line going to WV and there on to KY. This family was Catholic.
