| About Jean |
| Jean Counet graduated in 2005 with his documentary Trulichka from the Sint-Lukas institute in Brussels. He was born on the 17th of july 1979, in Eindhoven (The Netherlands).
His first film "Apинa", a touching simple portrait of a girl

| who feels
happy and sad in the same time was awarded at Gents Short Film Festival Courtisane. His second film
“La-bas”, a portrait of a young immigrant,
won at the same festival an award for Best Fiction as well as the Dutch
NPS award for best Dutch film in 2003. Canal+ broadcasted this film in 10
European countries. His short documentary Afmin,
a personal search for a nymph in Poland was awarded at the CUT!Festival
as best student film 2004. Jean's graduation film Trulichka has received a VAF WILDCARD, a subsidy of 60.000 euro's from the Flamish Audiovisual Foundation, which makes it possible that Jean can work on his first film outside filmschool. |
