When KQ3 was released back in 1986, many King's Quest fans, were disapointed and outraged. Not because of the game quality, but because where was King Graham and his wife Valenice?? What happened to Daventry?? And who the hell is this Gwydon fellow?? Luckily, many fans stuck with the game and went from "Remind me again why I bought this game??" to "Ahhh!! Don't kill the big nosed freak!" (Otherwise known as Gwydon.)
The plot?? You play Gwydon the young servent of the Evil Wizard Manannan. You know nothing of your past, only that you have been working for Manannan as far back as you can remember. As your passing into adulthood is almost at a close, the wizard begins to plan your death. You eventually learn that you are really Prince Alexander, the son of the good King Graham and Queen Valenice, who was stolen from the crib not long after birth. You whip the sorry litte wizard's ass, then head back to Daventry, to meet the parents you never knew. On arriving in Daventry you find that your twin sister, Princess Rosella has been captured by a dragon and (duh!) it's up to you to save her. On doing so, you're reunited with your family and live . . . happily ever after??? I think not!
