You should be hearing "Chessboardland" from King's Quest VI
Released in 1984, then re-released in 1986, The Black Cauldron was based on the movie released at the same time by Disney. Marketted as such, it has perhaps lasted the longest out of her earlier games among non-avid Roberta Williams fans. This was also one of the few games (Mickey's Space Adventure being the other), that was not based on characters of her own creation. However, one wonderful aspect of this game is that whenever you do something that DOESN'T follow the movie, you get extra points, and there are multiple endings!
Based originally on a book by Lloyd Alexander, the Black Cauldron follows a young boy, Taran, who becomes the unwitting keeper of a clairvoyent pig, named Hen Wen. (Talk about imagination!) You, (as Taran), must protect little Hen Wen from the Horned King, who wishes to use our little piggy friend in order to find the Black Cauldron. Should the Black Cauldron be found, the evil King will have the ability to raise an army of the undead. (Mummy Returns, flashbacks, huh?)
While playing this game, it is important to keep in mind that the game was directed to children, as was the movie, which is one of the reasons for the great little plots! (Now if only our grown-up movies would have such imagination, a clairvoyant pig . . . hmm.) Anyways, it's a great game, even if you are no longer a child. Have fun!
