| Frances our younger daughter is now 36. She works for the Conway Stewart Pen Co. and lives with her husband Allan and two children Jack and Hannah in Devon. She is the only one of our children not to live locally, but she never has. When we moved to Milton Keynes she was already engaged to Allan and she remained in Orpington and lodged with her now in-laws until they bought their first flat. From there they moved to a house in Belvedere where Jack was born in 1989. Just after that Allan got transferred to the TPO running out from Carlisle where Hannah was born in 1991, Incidentally exactly two years after Jack. Allan then transferred to the Great Western TPO and they moved to Horrabridge which is a village between Plymouth and Tavistock. That is where I think they will stay now as both of them are involved in village life. Fran is a Cub Mistress and Allan runs a football team. Allan is a Devonian by birth as he was originally from Exeter. His parents have also moved back and live in Exeter. We have nice holidays there but we do not see as much of them as we would like. We are tied here with animals and they with work commitments. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Frances and June are as different as "chalk and cheese" Where June looks like me but is more like her father in attitude Fran looks like Brian's side of the family but is more like me in attitude. Like June she went to Coopers and left when she was sixteen.From there she went on what was just in then a Youth Opp Scheme at Orpington Hospital in the Office and when her time ended there was a temporary job there taking the place of a lady going on Maternity leave, the lady never came back and she remained there until she left to have Jack. Nine years in all. Hannah was born in Carlisle and Fran did work for a while in the Cafeteria at Asda. When they moved to Devon and the children were at school she worked for an Old Peoples home for a while and then the Local Garage in Yelverton and from there to "The Pen factory" where she is now. The garage hours had become very difficult with all the other things she was doing. whereas now she is just weekday working. Over the last year she has lost a lot of weight (she has always been a big girl like Brians side of the family) and I think she has done marvellously. She still has some to go and after a break from careful eating at Christmas she is now back to the diet. She says she feels so much fitter and has more energy than she has had for a long time. |
