| June as anyone must guess was born on June 1st 1963, she came in a bit of a hurry and I delivered her myself at home. She was originally supposed to be called Sarah Jane but my father said why not call her June and as she was his first grandchild we agreed but Brian picked Claire for her middle name. She was a bright child but did not have us to herself for long as her other sister and three brothers came along in rapid succession. She first went to school in Slade Green and then on to Warren Road Primary when we moved to Chelsfield. She got a high pass in her exams and went on to go to Coopers Senior school where she got several O levels but not quite enough to do what she wanted to which was nursing, so she went on to do a year at college where she gained more. For some reason and I cannot remember why she was unable to train to become a State Registered Nurse but settled for Enrolled Nurse after a great deal of tears.(she is at this moment in time doing a conversion course) She completed her training at Orpington Hospital. At this time we had a building business and David was one of the men who worked for us. Neither of us were very happy about her going out with him(she was still at school at the time) as he was older than her by some 8 years but one thing led to another and they got engaged and eventually in April 1983 they got married. We moved here to Milton Keynes in the November of that year with the three boys leaving her and Frances behind. David started to treat her badly soon after we left and in the following year she came here but had already met Roger (who is Daniels father) They eventually moved into an Off Licence which Roger ran while June carried on nursing, at this time she was an Agency nurse. Daniel was born in 1986 and they moved to Chatham soon afterwards. Roger then also started not treating her so well and eventually she ran away with "the lodger" with Daniel.Roger has always had visiting rights with Daniel and he is now getting married to Michelle who has a small daughter. As the years have gone by Daniel does not visit his father as often , one because they only have a small house plus now at nearly 15 he has all his friends etc.here. We did not approve of this either but she was a grown woman and her life was hers to do what she wanted to. Graham was alot older than her 21 years in fact. She did eventually manage to get a divorce from David(reason for long delay was he could not be traced) and she married Graham. By this time they had moved up here and bought a house and June was working on the Special Care Baby Unit(SCBU) at Milton Keynes General. She also had had Jamie by this time. Needless to say eventually the age gap showed and she and Graham parted. She had custody of both the boys. and Graham moved back to Scotland where he has since re-married to Jane(much more his age) and he has Jamie for the holidays. June is a good mum and perhaps her only regret is that she did not have a daughter, but her brothers are making up for that and she is going to spoil Tim and Lisa's Molly, in fact she has already started. Update 25th January. June now has Maddison to spoil as well so will be in her element. |
