EVEN MORE KENTUCKY STALLIONS!

MARGAUX STUD

This is CAPTAIN BODGIT, a tough race horse. He won the Florida Derby and Wood Memorial in 1997. Bodgit was the favorite in the 1997 Derby, and I picked him. He was 2nd to the great SILVER CHARM.

CAPTAIN BODGIT, Saint Ballado - Answering Echo, by Greek Answer

Captain Bodgit is a young sire; his first winner is LAZER HILL. He has a bright future as a sire!

One horse that is a proven stallion is

CRYPTOCLEARANCE, Fappiano - Naval Orange, by Hoist The Flag

Crypto won the 1987 Florida Derby, as well as the Hawthorne, Widener, and Donn Handicaps.

CRYPTOCLEARANCE sired VICTORY GALLOP, winner of the 1998 Belmont Stakes& CH Older Male in 1999. He is also sire of: CRYPTO STAR & MILLENNIUM WIND, Charismatic's half-brother.

DEVIL HIS DUE, Devil's Bag - Plenty O Toole, by Raise A Cup

DEVIL HIS DUE won many Gr 1 races in his career, like the Wood Memorial, Suburban Handicap (twice), and Pimlico Special. Devil His Due has sired SHE'S A DEVIL DUE and BUCKLE DOWN BEN.

A funny story was circulating when we visited Margaux. It involved an IRS agent, Devil His Due, and a big bite.

Other Stallions at Margaux are: SEATTLE SLEET

The very first time we went to Kentucky, we visited

THREE CHIMNEYS

Three Chimneys is where the great SEATTLE SLEW stands at stud. At the time we visited, our camera was acting up (it wasn't until 2000 we got around to replacing it, ugh) so we have only one very small pic of Slew. It didn't scan well, so I decided not to include it.

This is SLEW O GOLD, Seattle Slew - Alluvial, by Buckpasser.

SLEW O GOLD is one of Seattle Slew's best sons. He won the Jockey Club Gold Cup and Woodward Stakes twice, as well as placing 2nd in the very first Breeder's Cup Classic. SLEW O GOLD has sired DRAMATIC GOLD.

TIME FOR A CHANGE, Damascus - Resolver, by Reviewer

TIME FOR A CHANGE was my favorite horse at Three Chimneys. He posed with a smile, and was such a to-die-for shade of chestnut!

TIME FOR A CHANGE won 5 races in 9 career starts. HIs son FLY SO FREE won the 1990 BC Juvenile, as well as the Champagne as a 2 year old. At 3, FLY SO FREE won the Florida Derby. 2001 Dubai World Cup winner CAPTAIN STEVE is TIME FOR A CHANGE's grandson by FLY SO FREE.

Sadly, TIME FOR A CHANGE passed away one year after these pictures were taken. We miss you, smiling horse!
